Humble so far
Anyone else worried about where their started base for this new planet should be.... I just have a nagging feeling I maybe under water in the future.. just like the first time on the other planet.. So dont know where to build first base... but looking forward to finding out... let the grind begin....

Yeah so i built a temp base on a hill till i get a few unlocks.

if you go straight from your landing zone, you will find an outpost with some covered areas and a platform in the center. Looks like a research outpost with no living quarters. I built my main base there, with single pods in the areas of where each different biome begins.

My base is almost on the edge of a very deep crater, let that fill up first then I will move. I cannot even see the bottom even when the mist.smoke thins out :o

Yeah my temp base is on a hill that over looks that outpost but i seen a lot of ice near by and thought just in case i will build up hear and see how it plays out.

Yeah, getting to food grower is a major PITA and this game is no longer a "chill" game. You will die a LOT and you need to explore as fast as possible. Getting to 12ppt on oxygen is super critical to get food grower.

It's also feeling like a super clickfest. holy crap the amount of clicking I am doing to pick up minerals is super annoying after 2hrs of play.

I went to the right of the pod and up. There's a hill/cliff that has a relatively flat surface, so I started there. With a t2 oxygen pack it's easy to get to the ice areas and makes an easy landmark to navigate home as I explore.

Yeah, it was rough to start so far.. but i am enjoying it... finally got some food growers going so should be good from now on... has anyone found any aluminium fields yet? Everything i need now requires it, and i have yet to discover a location yet where you can mine it (not that i have miners yet, but it usually will be on the ground as well...)

No more aluminum on the ground. You have to crush bauxite, so find bauxite, click and click and click and then put it into the crusher.

You can also find remnants and deconstruct t2 solar arrays to get some.

To the left of the pod has you exit you will come across a snowy cave area its all over the place there.

It's up on the hill with the wispy green (I'm colorblind so may be off) smoke. If you were coming out the pod, it's behind your right shoulder...quite a ways.

Yeah, gotta beeline the oxygen. I did starve to death running around looking for a box that might have food in it while waiting for that first crop of eggplants to come in. At least it was only once.

The automatic terraforming robots intrigue me...

Not enjoying it so far, it's not very well balanced. The distances between locations in the mid-game is insane and you have to manually collect resources instead of automating them with the miner for a long time.

Man this game is such a cluster. Shows they have not learned how to prevent clipping / problems.

Found this ship on this plateau, it has a "entrance" hole on the underside of it. I built a ladder to get inside and once inside, the "entrance" disappears and I'm inside the ship, with little to no oxygen and no way to get out.

I have hundreds of hours with PC, wrote a guide, and it just perplexes me with this kind of crap. Seriously, they have not learned.
