Have I somehow missed the story/lore in Planet Crafter??
I'm 38 hours in and about 98GTi and I haven't had much of a story line at all. I've gotten a few messages from Sentinel Corp. and Riley giving me a set of coordinates. I've found 2 underground bunkers around the volcano with a few transcripts from another person and (by chance) found an underground door in a cave. And that's it. I've searched through the handful of wreaks that I've come across, and I feel like I've searched every part of the map aside from the few areas you need explosives to access. Did I somehow miss a story trigger?

Riley should have sent you a message with coordinates attached that leads you to a cave that starts a quest line to figure out what those doors are for.

just messages in various wrecks and abandoned bases plus stone tablets you can read. then there's the messages that get sent directly to you via the communication screen. the set of coordinates will lead you to a place that you can find something with another set of coordinates. that's basically a breadcrumb chain for a lot of stuff.

basically you can either doom guy your way through the game just performing your task until you can leave or read.

I also want to point out that the reward for following the breadcrumbs to its conclusion is HUGE.

Not only do you get two nice items that help your terraforming, the area you unlock can spawn more of them in time.

It's not really a story/lore-intensive game, more of a build what you want when and where you want kind of game. There is some story/lore (the messages that can be found at various locations and that arrive after you build the receiver), but they aren't really a main focus of the game.

Story seems to be secondary to the Planet Crafter. Once one stops receiving messages it becomes less and less important.
There is more to come.
I just found an extensive underground base left by a scout named Jeremy.
I wish that WE could build like that.
