They "phoned in" the lore though, I have to agree. I hope they add more later.
For Prime, we had to stare at a giant door for many months before other areas were released. Perhaps the same will be with Humble.
We can only hope.
All the good stuff requires far more Iridium than Uranium, and since we can't control the output of the crushers, I end up with far more Uranium I can hardly get rid of and I always lack Iridum for PQ, Explosive Powder and Rocket Engines/T2 drones.
Edit: the lore felt a bit lacking, too. I was secretly hoping for a way to defect and work for the competition. :P
I also hope that the lore is incoming because while I'm having fun, it's less engaging. Whenever I see the message symbol on a machine I get hopeful only to see it simply say offline. Even tried to find a way to power them up, but no luck.
On Prime they had a story, it also didn't feel complete but there was enough to stay interested. The endings were anti-climatic which may be why I thought of the alternative way to get to Humble.
I do hope they add onto the dlc to make it feel more complete, but tbh I expected that it was already finished when I purchased it. Idk, I'm just rambling a bit at this point. It's good anyway, just not what I expected. Needs a massive Lore Update.
Yeah, I was thinking that maybe Sentinel's punishment for not following their rules to a "T" in prime would be for your original avatar to have to terraform another planet. Seems like that might have been their intent all along, even, since they would likely want to hold onto that rarity, a convict who could actually manage against overwhelming odds!
Maybe there could have been ways to tie Humble in with the other two possible endings too, such as more hints about the Wardens who wanted to live and something involving the smugglers. Maybe they're really working for Sentinel?
Being able to join the robotics company and even use materials found to fix the robots might have been an interesting twist too. I felt rather sorry for the poor things, especially since it was implied they might have had some sentience. Did anyone else see the one that was stuck in those "cigarette" roots underground with a smaller one frozen in place trying to pull it out?
I like the DLC and the way the small map progressively unlocks new areas to make it larger than it originally seemed to be, but I agree the story was kind of lackluster. It would be cool to learn who Sentinel Corp are, how they managed to take over the criminal justice /penal system in this futuristic universe etc. Seeing them get some kind of comeuppance would be cool too!
I have lockers full of iridium rods, iridium rods start showing up in chests way before uranium ones do, and you do know you can shove an iridium rod into a deconstructor machine to get the 9 iridium ores back, right?
If it's explosive powders you're hankering for, you can also shove flares into that same machine to get them and free plastic, too, as well as all of those explosive charges seen on the robots.
For someone like myself who is used to automation (100+ drones) , its very disappointing not to be able to mine the big 3. I am hoping I can use drones to auto load and then auto sort the crushers.
Or get golden crates ? I'm almost to the end and find anything
Did you see the vehicle on the top of the island ? It has a space ration in its robotic hand... I think it was trying to feed something coming from the sea.. ?
My head canon is that this is what happened. You took the Sentinel ending and your reward was being dumped on another planet and told to do it all over again.
Agreed with hoping some more lore comes out.
From the changelog looks like the golden crate analogue is now in the development build, so it will be in the game soon. A bit disappointing that it was not in at release.
