Humble Progression Too Fast
Hi all, just wanted to give some feedback and see if anyone else had experienced this on the new DLC.
I feel like I've sped through the early game exceptionally fast. I've explored 99% of the above ground map including the lava cave, unlocked T5 backpack, T4 Oxygen pack, T2/3 Jetpack, T3 Agility boots, unlocked and upgraded the rover but blocked from further upgrades awaiting zeolite, I've sent only 3 rockets out, and still only T1 deconstructor chip cos super alloy rods are locked behind another 5-6 levels of Terraformation. Granted, I probably have no use for circuit boards yet and I have heaps of them anyway.
I'm at the level of Moss formation and I have built every structure I am able to at this point, I've not needed an ore extractor at all and now it feels like a waiting game for zeolite. Are my machine optimisers on the base planet encouraging resource growth? lol. FYI This has taken 2 irl days to get here.

I feel like the base game was more balanced and progression deserved with something new to do all the time and resources to strive for before I could build x structure. It certainly felt like it took longer to achieve goals and build equipment. Currently, something unlocks and I already have all the bits to build it. Apart from Zeolite.

Resources are perhaps a bit too generous? Gear was was too easy to come by and I don't think there is much better personal equipment to get? I'm hoping new things that have been implemented might give a bit of that old game feel of building up to making that new dooverwockie - whatever that thing happens to be.

TLDR; feel like I'm soft locked by zeolite and super alloy rods

Anywho, just some feedback. Love the game. Miju Games guys are doing an amazing job.

You could go find the zeolite and super alloy rods that are on the map somewhere. You have access to them, at least two rods that I know of and a bunch of zeolite.

My biggest complaint is having to swim through so much undesired ore just to get to the iridium or that I REALLY need and want... keeping the crushers clean is beyond tedious, and throwing away so many tons of ore just rubs me the wrong way. Cobalt is totally junk after early game, as is most of the rest. Simply can't store it all, nor do I want to. Crushers are definitely a mixed bag.

Quartz is the opposite, way too scarce. I get the feeling they are trying to force wreck exploration. First run, no Trade and no Portals, I just wanted core planet mechanics.

Once you build your first ore crusher, you definitely have all the basic ores you need to survive. As long as you don't miss the snow biome to harvest ice for water, you should be able to explore / scavenge enough food to last until you can build food growers. Once you get your initial few machines running that increase your Ti, you can focus on exploring and it goes pretty quick.

WHY are you Doing a SPEED RUN ... Try a Harder difficulty and it just came out ... So, I would say some balance might be needed.

BUT ... PERSONALLY ... I think it is JUST Fine and died a couple of times already.

First game, I starved. I was concentrating on finding ice, (finally found in the far NW), and hadn't built vegetubes. So, food growers didn't unlock....

This game, I'm worried that accessible iridium will all get used up. Although it looks like a certain lava cave may become non-fatal by and by....

So, no, I haven't found progression too fast or excessively easy.

P.S. I found plenty of zeolite. I slipped while harvesting iridium, and found myself in a subterranean cavern with lots of resources. Unfortunately, I ran out of air before I could find a way out.

progression in the game in general is a bit fast, especially when you already know what you are doing from a previous playthrough.

i always lower the terraformation speed whenever i play now.

I'm enjoying the new planet just as it is, so please don't adjust anything.

definitely feeling that soft lock on super alloy rods though -_-

Im just waiting sooooooooooooooo long for it

Same for me too. Its is fine as it is. You can adjust the settings for the game if you want it to be more challenging.

If you're being held back by super alloy...

Did you build a T3 Ore Crusher and a T2 Ore Extractor in the Ice Cave? Are you checking it regularly?

Every 10-15 minutes, both machines should be full. You should get pretty much an Alloy Rod's worth of Alloy out of the Crusher's box, along with enough Uranium and Iridium to make their rods. I usually shred the Dolomite (build a hut nearby with a shredder in it) because at this point, I have lockers full of the stuff that comes out of dolomite. You also get a metric crapton of Iron, too which is awesome for building foundations.

Use the rover! Upgrade its inventory to T2 ASAP which should help a lot when trying to haul all your loot back to your base, also build an Advanced Crafter Machine right next to the Ore Crusher and Ore Extractor so you can rod-ify the Iridium/Uranium right there on-site to make carrying it back to base easier.

You could also optionally keep a locker of aluminum there so you can rod-ify the alloy too if you want but that's optional. Between the Rover's inventory, your inventory and converting as much uranium and iridium into rods as possible, you should be able to clear both boxes in one go. Obviously, dump any Uraninite into the Crusher and let it process the next batch while you're away.

Keep at that, and you will be overflowing with Alloy.

As for Zeolite, there's quite a bit of it laying around underground... I found enough of it to last me until T3 ore extractor, which I stuck one of those near the crashed rocket.

EDIT: So I misread the OP, they aren't locked because of a material shortage, they are locked because of TI requirements.

Simply put, build moar stuff. Use T2 Nuclear Reactors to pump your power up which is easy to do if you do what I just mentioned above, you'll have more than enough Uranium to put loads of those reactors down, and just... build moar stuff.

Once you get to the Trees stage which isn't too terribly difficult, you might start finding fuses in boxes. Pray you get a Pressure fuse. Otherwise, send a few more rockets, again, easy to do with the resources you generate from the above-mentioned set up as it provides everything you need for more rockets. I wouldn't worry about heat rockets so much, but definitely push Pressure, you want those Ore Extractors ASAP. 5-10 Pressure Rockets. I found myself not even caring about the Iridium asteroids; I had a locker full of iridium rods + 2 lockers full of Iridium Ore at that point.

I will agree there's a bit of a lull around the late moss/early trees stage, where you're waiting for the Tree Spreaders to unlock, take the time to set up some infrastructure... build some huts, some landmarks, send up the GPS Rockets if you can, run around looking for robots with blue chips to make sure you have all of those unlocks (especially the T2 Deconstructor Chip...) look for the robots holding the Tree Seeds (some of them are ludicrously awesome and are always there regardless of current TI), etc.

The progression isnt really faster than before. You are just experienced in the game and know what to do.

I would argue that Humble throws so much Uranium/Alloy/Iridium at you, that you probably end up with way more energy than you could ever use until you start getting into T2-3 Ore Extractors, Drones, etc.

On Prime, energy is a bit of a problem earlier in the game until you can get to the T2 and finally have unlimited Uranium.... but on Humble, there's so much Uraninite laying around, that you can have a few thousand kW way earlier in the game which enables you to build more heaters, drills, etc. to get the Ti up faster.

EDIT: And even before Nuclear Reactors, there's lots of T2 solar panels laying around that you can deconstruct and reconstruct giving you loads of energy early-game, too.

Quite likely it is because you need more o2.

Get some more tree spreaders out and/or send up some more oxygen rockets and/or go look for fuses in chests. Once you're at the Frog stage, you're more than late enough to start opening any boxes you haven't opened yet, hoping to get your mitts on an o2 fuse.

If you have other fuses that are unwanted, you can sell those with the trade rocket and then buy an o2 fuse.

There are also ridiculously awesome tree seeds (800-1200%) held by robots scattered around the map.
