I am also baffled by the scales the game uses. Hard to figure what you need when the scales seem arbitrary. So I just kept plugging, to heck with planning!
I am in late game, half way to fish generation.
Was hoping that was the case. But it is bad game design to provide no clue other than "been there done that" on how to get through the ice. The braille method of landmine detection works...it is not recommended.
same as prime on humble certain ice walls will actually tell you whats required to "start to melt them" i found when i reached that point i built 4-5 of largest heat sources and that effectily melted them after like 3 days in game time (not irl time ) helped alot . if not then your waiting on the heat to reach past certian next point not indicated to fully remove ice not just start. i did notice in one my games before i realized it my heat w/o multipliers in the machines that make them more efficient with multipliers cores/cells added into them my heat and pressure had sorta tappered off to point it wasnt even registering on the terraforming screen as going up so thats when realized it needed a bump or efficency or multiplier to get it past that hump for the ice walls to get gone. sorry not decribing it best or well but hopefully makes enough sense you get the jist
IRL ice forms at 32°F/0°C, an ice cube doesn't just immediately melt into a puddle of water at 33°F/1°C
The liquid lakes level melted most of the ice for me.
The Tree/Zeolite branches level melted pretty much the rest around this time.
The big hk h being inverted is the Tree Branch Level of Terraforming.
