Iridium on Humble
Sooo the lack of a mine given the heavy need is a royal pain in the a$$. Sure I get some from crushers but god am I tired of shredding the boat loads of extra crap when all I need is iridium.

i know what you mean , uranite , full of a tiny amount of iridium and uran but loads of other nonsense , same for bauxite , had to build a dump site into one of the volcanos to get rid of the garbage

my play time is erratic, I don't get to play as much as I like, so I haven't unlocked ore extractors yet. I was kind of assuming you could mine iridium by where it's a ground spawn. Is that not the case?

I was thinking uranium was going to be hard once I started to need it to make reactors. I'm about halfway to the requirement to unlock the first nuke reactor

You cannot mind Iridium or Uranium directly in the Humble DLC. The only accesses to them are whatever you find on the ground, or crushing Uraninite ore. Uraninite ore will crush into: iridium, uranium, iron, super alloy, and dolomite.

You will honestly find lots of Uraninite in a couple of caves relatively close to your initial crash site, so you should be fine until you can build extractors. Just upgrade your ore crusher as soon as you can so you get higher amounts of the more rare ores.

Die ersten beiden Raketen liefern beide, Uran und Iridium, in rauen Mengen ;)

I am overflowing in iridium.
So much just lying around in the lava zone.

Or you can just Crush Uranite

This is 100% false.

A T2 or T3 Extractor will mine Uraninite from the Ice Cave.

You also get Uranium and Alloy, which you need lots of, too.

The only "junk" you get are dolomite and iron, and Iron is actually useful for quite awhile, for building.

Just use your rover. drive it up to the crusher, dump all the green, red, and rainbow candy into the rover, dump the dolomite into the shredder. Takes like 5-10sec.

And once you get drones, the drones can do all that for you.

In the end, you get waaaaay more Iridium and Uranium than you ever did on Prime unless you built multiple T3s targeting it and even then it's way closer to your base unless you use teleporters.

I'm not seeing false information in Tallowate's post. Can you highlight it for me?

I feel like there is more of a . . . filter in the earlier parts, when you're schlepping around to get mats for the ore crusher, with getting sufficient uranium and iridium. Particularly right as you want to migrate to T2 reactors need 3 uranium rods per. Once you cross it though, you're swimming in reds and greens again.

Whoops.

Sorry about that, I somehow read "Uranium" as "Uraninite". My bad.

I thought they were saying you couldn't mine Uraninite, lol.

They really coulda used a better name for that ore. It kinda sorta looks like black Bismuth, maybe they should have called it Bismuth instead, lol.

i'm probably not going to finish my DLC game.

the extra overhead required for iridium in the late game is too annoying. i saw the drones fill up the crushers sequentially instead of evenly and i just didn't wanna do it. first time i'm mass shredding alloy though, that's new.

please add a mining spot thats frozen until the late game.

We all make mistakes :)

I don't know if you're aware but Uraninite[en.wikipedia.org] is a real thing. For what it's worth, I learned that it's a real thing only recently, despite having first heard of it over 10 years ago in FF 13.

Yeah, folks assuming I'm new... I'm at 260 GTI... so end game... and have several of the largest storage (trade ship unlock) full to the brim with each mineral except greens and reds.

I'm even using the mod for item stacking set to "50" and have a stupid amount of all the basic resources.

Currently:
Iron: 5,750 (done several dumps)
Cobalt: 5,750 (done several dumps)
Magnesium: 5,750 (done several dumps)
Silicon: 5,750 (done several dumps)
Titanium: 2,838 (just dumped an inventory worth)
Aluminium: 2,205
Uranium: 2,189
Iridium: 1,253

Yes, I can build anything I need, probably several times over... I point out these numbers to show the vast difference in harvest rates.

At 260 GTI I've acquired plenty but early on it was very limiting and I think the harvest rates need serious balancing. This could be easily fixed but having the "crush" give more of the needed mineral while lowering the trash minerals by equal margins. Frankly, I think we already have Dolomite for the basic minerals... we don't need basics from Bauxite and Uraninite too.

Maybe the T3 crushers should be like the T3 extractors where you can choose what you get while ignoring everything else.

Edit: Or make a T4 crusher that does that. Maybe the first 2 crushers should increase in crushing speed and storage capacities, while T3 gives an increase to that and the red and green without necessarily decreasing the other ores, and the T4 allows you to choose what you get.
