Rare genetic traits?

On both the Prime planet and Humble, I only found the species 4 trait in hidden chests. There don't appear to be any wild specimens as with all other species. These chests seem to be set in the world rather than RNG as other chest contents.

I know there are also other traits which are "rarer", mostly A and B colors or Pattern Color traits that you cannot make with the Genetic Extractor. On Prime I found a true black A color, as well as a cool purplish blue B color. I have not seen either of these on Humble. I really miss the true black, as the closest thing to it for Color A is gray and the "gray" Color B is more of a weird tan color on most mammals. I also have not found a true "white" Color B. The Penga larvae provides a white A Color, but the fish eggs (I think) that look like white are actually pale beige.

I am curious if it's possible to find these traits on Humble. Has anyone found a true black (think Leglus frogs) A color either by petting wilds or in chests? Most of the traits I've found in wrecks, etc, have been biolume, variants, or species. I think I got them on prime by petting wilds. But none of the wilds on Humble so far have this trait.

Not the answer to your question, but species 4 exists in the wild on Prime. It can be found in the toxic caves at -943:0:-1537.

Hi Wyldfae! Interesting! I got species 4 in both places while petting species 2, and I don't recall ever finding them in chests on either planet. I did find a gene for species 4 in a procedural wreck once though.

Sadly, I have not found either the black or the dark blue-black-purplish colours, or a clear white for colour B on Humble either, and I too miss them. I've gotten the most colours (on Humble) while petting the wild 'land-sharks' that seem to like rumbling about the flats at the bottom of the cliffs. So, I keep trying! (I guess I'm easily amused, lol! ;-P )

I always have to have my mobile transport with me (I don't call that thing a rover, it isn't) when I'm there though, because between the genes from petting and picking up much-needed-for-animal-food-larvae, things fill up pretty durn fast!

These are pics of the true black A and the purple blue B colors. I love using black and white A's (bellies, feet, horns) because colored patterns show up the best on them. The lighter browns and fake white B colors often don't show patterns at all, and then only white. It's weird how some show up and some don't.

In this buffalo, the red markings are really nice on the black A areas but don't show up at all on the light brown hide.

And the blue purple color does not show the dark blue markings, but the black A does. It's weird, But I really like this B color. Lol. Hoping I can stumble across it and the black on Humble eventually. Did you actually find a true white B color on Prime? Cause I never did, just the A.
