How to move Demo Save to Full Version Save Folder on Steam Deck?
Hello, I played the demo on steam deck and bought the full game when I got to the cap. How do I move the save game from the demo, to the full game? It says I'll be able to do it if I buy the full version.

TIA

You shouldnt need to move it as far as I know, at least I know I didnt have to, but I'm on pc.

It will automatically make that save available.
There is no need to move any files. The full version recognizes demo saves as valid.

Just a quick note for those who want to know. As mentioned, on Linux (assume its the same on steamdeck running linux but I dont have one) The Planetcrafter demo and full version are two environments. When you play on the demo, then launch the full version your save is not there.

YMMV on the advice below, but this worked for me on a full desktop Linux environment.

You can get to it and move it to the new spot and it worked (at least for me it did after playing the demo for 5 hours today) - There is some digging you have to do to find it, but if you want to keep your progress

Best to do a file search (I am on KDE and kfind or dolphin works well for this. (searching for the "Standard-1.json") save file, or a wildcard *.json search if you prefer.

Here is what I did to find it:

- As mentioned in other comments if you are playing a "standard" game - the file name for the save should be "Standard-1.json" - That for me in the demo was found in the which is in your home user directory (EG: /home/yourusername/) (the hidden .var folder mentioned follows)

- I launched the full version of the game, then created a new save file, then closed out. I searched again and the new environment path for the full game was at
- NOTE: the folder name after the "compdata" directory is random, so you cannot search by a reliable folder name, I just sorted by modified time and those two folders were basically next to each other in timestamp.

- I copied the file name from the demo path to the new path location, relauched the game and my save and progress was intact.

- Bonus - I got all the Steam achievements up to that point also which was interesting because I have a buddy who has 100% the game and has no steam achievements (and he's a Linux guy also)
