1. for some reason no matter where i place a T3 extractor i cant find aluminum or super alloy. is there some stage i need before it comes on the menu? Googled showed a location but not even lose pieces on ground where there nor shown in extractor.

How is your power situation.
If there is not enough power for the T3-extractor, everything will work, but the special ores are not shown.

If you have enough power, even a T2 will pull aluminum from the aluminum forest and super from the alloy cave.

You can launch a Map Information Rocket. It displays deposits on the map. You need a GPS Satellite too.

Probably the simplest way to make sure you put your extractor in the right location. Once you have this and the T3 extractor you're basically set for resources until end of game.

plenty of power not a problem.

have satelites, the only one i havent launched yet is the POI rocket, since i wanted to explore myself.

the T2 ex. works fine pulling osmium up in a cave, how ever as said the aluminum forest havent produced a single aluminium, zip, none, nada.
the only thing it has produced lots of is sulfur.

The POI rocket is exactly what you need. It just shows you where you can mine which resource.

Aluminum is a very limiting resource early on. There's a craggy biome northeast of spawn, and some decent super alloy spots if you know where to look. It stays very limiting for quite a while and it's worth setting up aluminum mining as your first project.

Could you show a screenshot if where you have the miner set up? Maybe its in the wrong place

Also, did you do randomized ores during game setup? that can change where you get stuff. On a t3 extractor also make sure that you select Aluminum as what you want it to produce, it does have to be in certain places for this option to appear.

Power clear, but I'm a bit confused now.
In your original post you mentioned T3 ex (hence my reference for the power, and the assumption you had already deployed T1/T2 extractors for aluminium and super alloy).
In this reply you are mentioning T2 ex.

Aluminium can already be extrated with a T1 ex. Have you ever deployed a T1 ex succesfully for aluminium? I suppose not. A tip.
After placing an extractor, check the icon below the inventory of the extrator, it will tell you what ore/miniral is prefered at the location. This way you don't have to wait for production.
If it doesn't show the icon for the ore/mineral you want to extract, you clearly are not at the right location.

Also keep in mind, the boundaries of a deposit are not that clear. Turning the extractor, can be enough to hit or miss, if placed near a boundary. Make sure you are well inside the area.

If you want to keep exploring, a screenshot of the location you try to extract aluminium would indeed be helpfull.
Or start using the POI-rocket.

Admittedly, I have not tried every tier of extractor in every spot. But are there even spots that yield both aluminum and sulfur?
Personally dont know of any, and in that case an extractor yielding sulfur cant be in the right spot for aluminum

You are correct for the T1 and T2 extractor. However the T3 extractor ...

Aah, alright alright. Makes sense

I have never had a problem with Aluminium or Super Alloy in the standard game. You just need to place to extractors in the correct locations where the particular ore can be found.

If you alter the game settings and select "Randomize Ores", the extractors seem to bugged.

Arrrgghh. You can directly mine super alloy? How did I miss that? :steamfacepalm: I've been building large numbers of miners at the aluminium field to use with auto-crafters. Hahahahaha.

Well, that's a hundred hours of my life I'll never get back thanks to missing that little nugget :D

I do hope I can't mine Pulsar somehow :D
