Mammal Guide?
Many moons ago Pesky's Insects, Fish and Frogs Guide saved me a huge amount of grief and time by unlocking the details of such critters. Having opened a save just as 1.0 hit, I learned the outline of animals (mammals) and in the next play through hoarded a huge number of larva, especially rare larva. All to no avail: my critters ate me out of house and home and I still don't know what triggers bumps to growth and multipliers and exactly what does each variant do and how can they be hungry when I'm feeding them tons of T1 and T2 animal food and half a biome is doing nothing but grow wheat. We need a guide for pity's sake. (please no mod's or edits)

If you can eat it, they will eat it. If you can farm it, they will eat it.
Beans have the highest nutritional value of the raw foods. So start a lot of bean farms.
I would like to see a happiness rating for critters. And to name them.
I have flower spreaders and grass spreaders around the shelters and feeders. It likely does nothing for them, but I feel better seeing them stroll through fields of taller grass and flowers.

Similar arrangement here but can't help wondering what takes one from 1000% multiplier to 2000% or why some have 100% growth. have exotic little critters that look like turtles and large horses (from volnus seed trait to size 4), every variant and combination of skin pattern and colors. But right now, it's a full time job to keep them fed (can they starve, go on the Atkins diet, join a gym?). It's all good to "discover on my own ", but this is beyond my meager math and patience. What happened to the algebra folk that sorted this for the first two years?

They grow no matter what you feed them. Feed them beans and they won't starve.
The wiki for the critters didn't help me at all. I can't help with the algebra. I've been documenting my efforts regarding the critters in a different thread. But it is more about their wandering than the genetics and what causes what.

Also, this is all new to us, and updates tend to change the math.
