In case anything like this happens again -- tap F4 a few times until you're free to move. It's the game's unstuck and will get you out of any situation.

You can also use this to get out of the big underground mazes if you get lost. Spam F4 and you'll vertically jump until you get out of the mesh, and then you can jetpack back into the map proper.
