Steam deck performance
How does the game work on steam deck, does it have good controller support and also does it run well? Like at least a locked 40fps even if I have to turn down the graphics a bit? Want to install it on my steam deck but don’t wanna waste my time if it performs poorly

You could refund the game within the 2 hour window if it doesn't run well on Deck.

Ran it on Linux which is similar software wise to Steamdeck. The performance seems more sluggish than on Windows.

No games run well on the Steam Deck, its definition of running games at the minimum viable quality level. Its a 2 gen old Ryzen APU, except hamstrung by aggressive clock throttling.

Not sure about controller support.

Plenty of games run well on the Deck. Anything 2D or indie, most things you'd emulate. If you play only modern bloated AAA stuff I can understand why you might think you'd have to crank settings down, but I don't turn down any settings for most stuff I play. I even play on an external monitor at 1920x1200, higher res than the Deck's built-in panel. You don't need the very best or latest hardware to play games well. Consider that consoles have the same hardware for 5-10 years and they continue to release games on them in a playable state. Often stuff near the end of the gen is more polished than the stuff at the start despite the hardware not changing.

It runs fine, 60 FPS even on medium when I was playing it last night. 40 FPS'll probably squeeze out some extra battery, though.

Controller support is good, and 100% rebindable, which you'll need if you don't like the default settings. I did not.

I'm playing this game in Steam Deck Oled. I'm in the Tree Plant phase. Good performance, around 50 fps. Good controller support.

I literally run anything from rdr2 to Valheim iv ran ark on my deck and iv literally only had to change my launch options one time way of the hunter call of the wild all of em that iv tried anyone who says steam deck can’t run any games is a frame rate snob who can’t stand to see anything less then 120 fps I hit 40-60 fps very easily and I am fine with that me and my wife both play bauldersgate together and it’s been flawless that’s the only launch option I have changed I enjoy and adore my steam deck and my wife loves hers I hope they continue with the repair-ability and maybe even release an upgraded cpu and other parts I honestly think steam deck is a model that all systems should strive for.

I set my Steamdeck VRAM allotment from 1GB to 4GB awhile back to get one game to run smoothly. I haven't have a crash after the explosive patch, where they fixed the memory leak. I'm almost at the end of terraforming the planet. The game runs about 20-30 fps when I'm at the busy base. 60 fps(had it capped at 60) when not near the base. It runs pretty well. I'm fine with the framerate, as long as the game isn't crashing. There's a prologue of Planet Crafter if you want to see how it runs.

It runs great on steam deck. I host an MP game on my deck and never drop below 48 fps.

There are some occasional latency issues for the others, but we all are using the steam deck to play.

Oddly enough, it loads better on the older deck than my OLED deck. Maybe because I have it on my SD card.

I can definitely recommend it on the deck.

Extremely well.

Does not run well for me.
Up until the insect stage the game ran great on the deck and this was easily one of my favorite games. Halfway through the trees stage fps started dropping. Lowered my graphics to medium, seemed to improve for a short time, but by the insect stage it was terrible then the game started crashing my deck, so I stopped playing.
I don’t have the OLED, would love to know what everyone’s settings are that the game runs so well for others since my experience is the complete opposite.
