For me the "buy" button worked perfectly. Yes, the button on that page that say "steam deck compatibility : VERIFIED !" with a green checkmark... But now the "Install" button is greyed out :(
I don't have much confidence if it's working one day and just suddenly stop working, so unless there is some good news soon for linux users i will just refund.
I guess I'm just spoiled by the "everything game i buy from steam works perfectly on linux nowadays" syndrome, something that I should not take for granted.
If the install button is greyed out you didn't enabled proton compatibility in properties and/or settings. That step is needed because there is no native Linux port for Planet Crafter. Once you do this the installation proceeds normally.
I wonder if maybe this game is suffering the same problem as another Unity-based game I know of...
If so, then check your audio manager while the game is running to make sure it's outputting to the correct device (the problem with said other game was that Unity was setting it to the wrong output). If it's incorrect, change it and you should have sound again. Unfortunately, if this is what's happening, then you'll likely have to do this every time you launch the game.
I have a bluetooth adapter for earbuds and a wired headset connected to my PC in case the buds run out of power. Very annoying indeed needing to switch audio channels each time for booting the game. Or having to unplug one of the two devices.
Really hoping devs can iron this issue out in the future. Having the game remember the audio output device would go a long way here.
What audio software are you using? I bounce between pipewire and pulseaudio depending on the situation, with pipewire being my primary because that's what Fedora prefers. If other games work, you might want to try running `pactl subscribe` to see if there are any unusual disconnect/reconnect cycles on your hardware.
Besides that, have you tried running with `PROTON_LOG=1 %command%`? Unity doesn't provide amazing output but sometimes you can get a hint about what's going wrong.
I have the exact same issue :-(
