mapping rocket question

If i launched a t4 mapping rocket is there any benefit to launching any of the t1-t3 or does it give all the details of the previous tiers?

I found this out. I launched a T1 and a T4 all the positions worked like I launched all the rockets. I put in a bug report. Don't know if it has been fixed or not.

Doing a minimal rocket launch play through, just 1 of each terraforming rocket. If i could get by with just using the t4 i might do it, but don't really need maps having just done a no nuclear power run.

Pretty sure you just need the highest tier rocket. The only reason to do the lower tier ones is if you haven't unlocked the rest and for some reason you want the useless map screen.

Each rocket tier just increases the zoom range of the map, with each one being a fixed value (and includes all lower zoom values). If you're comfortable with not needing the map until you can unlock the T4, then that's the only one you ever need to launch. Lower tier rockets are in case you need the map as early as possible (the moment you unlock T1) and absolutely need the highest zoom level available (the moment you unlock each additional tier).
