White grass?

I've been playing for quite a while and am moderately advanced (TTi=30). I just noticed that the tops of all of my grass plants are suddenly bright white. Is this supposed to be snow? Are we now going to have seasons? Has anyone else noticed this or know whether it's deliberate or a strange bug?

There aren't any seasons on your planet. I suspect it's a graphics bug of some kind.

I found this too and simply saved the game and restarted the save and all is back to normal. Hope that helps. It's a bug that happens which I have not manged to track down yet. Hopefully the devs have.

Thanks, johndal. Saving and reloading fixed it. Other than looking weird, it makes reading the status of machines which are in the grass impossible to read, kind of like when you are outside and the sun is too bright.

I have this bug now too. I restarted, but it did not fix it.

Occasionally the lighting in game will randomly bug out and become extra (almost painfully) bright; this effect is usually most noticeable on T2 storage lockers for some reason I can't imagine, but it usually affects to some degree pretty much anything/everything that you've placed in the world, and that is generated by machines you've placed, e.g. grass and plants, etc.

Of the few times I've seen this happen, it's most commonly occurred after I've returned to the main world through the portal from a remote location.

Usually a game restart, or two, will resolve the issue, but there's been a couple of times where the only solution was to just close the game for a short while and go play/do something else and come back to the game later on.

If the issue doesn't seem to fix itself, even after trying to restart the game a few times, and even closing the game and coming back to it after a period of time, then you may want to try verifying the installed game files to see if something is wrong there.

The recent decorations update seems to have caused random graphical and/or other issues for a bunch of folks, verifying their game installation, and repairing it where needed, appears to have fixed things for most of them.

I call this effect 'the white-outs', and, like Flint, I've noticed it most when returning through the portal unit to the main world. Interestingly enough, I've not had it happen on Humble yet, although it would happen quite regularly on Prime, always when returning through a portal.

A quick save and exit to the main screen usually fixes it, a couple of times I had to exit the game completely, other than that minor and occasional discomfort it's never really caused much of a problem...
