yep, seems like a punt. i only use it to recycle bars if needed atm. i store bars to save space and recycle a few dumping the ore on the floor near the auto-crafter...
Build X number of T3 mining rigs in e.g. the Iridium cave.
Build an autocrafter nearby, set to create Iridium bars.
Set the autocrafter to Supply bars.
Set a locker in your base/factory to Demand bars.
Drones will only carry the bars from the Mining Autocrafter to your locker, not the ore.
If you're wanting to do the same thing with Super Alloy then you just set up a locker near the Autocrafter that demands Aluminium (and obviously have Aluminium mines set up as supplies).
The only thing you can't do at the moment is auto-recycle, because you need to manually push the red button.
(I agree that the Recycler would be much better if it worked as every other machine, I don't like picking up crap from the floor either)
