Clearing Debris from Asteroid impacts, how can i do it ?
Hello There.

Is there a way to clear debris from asteroid impacts manually ? or do i just have to wait for it to clear itself ?

Cause i had an impact on my launch platform, and ofcourse when i launched a rocket the darn thing tipped over and flew away sideways across the landscape, it hit something and turned around and came right at me with a vengence.

After a while it disappeared but i was a bit shaken by the experience...

They despawn after a while or you can reload. But then if you reload you lose the ore so it's usually better to just wait it out.

I'm not sure. Never timed it. Maybe a few minutes?

just save, quit, reload and the debris will be gone.

Oki, but thats not sustainable, i get alot of asteroids from launching rockets.
Guess i have to wait or move the platform.

Asteroids fall WHERE YOU ARE. So moving the platform will not make them go someplace else.

Rockets don't have to launch 'clean' in order to work.

I've launched rockets that have hit me in the face, got stuck in my buildings, got stuck in other rockets, went underwater in a lake, just plain fell over, and others. They all still give +1000% as soon as you hit the red button. Nothing else matters.

Asteroid debris is a pain, but you can minimise the problems it causes you by putting a teleport pad on/near the rocket launch pad, pressing the red button, then teleporting off to the other side of the map somewhere. Wait for the rocks to stop falling on your head where you are, then go back to your launch pad. If you can't teleport yet, just jetpack as far away as you can.

Or you can just ignore it, and if it's blocking doors then you can quit and reload.

If you make a custom game you can turn meteors off but then you don't get the early game uranium for power so you have to go look for it.

That only works for random ones, the ones brought on from rockets will still occur.
As for how long, usually just a couple mins, but even if you want to launch another rocket right away with the debris there, you will be fine, some of us have had some pretty crazy outcomes from rockets launching crazy (try jumping on one to see what kind of crazy things it may do lol), it will eventually disappear, but if you look you will see that you still get the result from it (otherwise you wouldnt be getting the meteors to begin with).

Like others have said, the launch is all just visual. After you press the red button, it is effectively launched. Doesn't matter what it does after that, it still shows up in orbit and the rocket hitting you does nothing as far as I can tell.

To have some fun with this, try and launch 3 rockets quickly together and watch them all go wacky. :steamhappy:

Instead of waiting just go to a different area and do something like smell the flowers , or maybe plant some , there is lots to do instead of just waiting .

I've been playing a custom game with the slider for meteors at 0. There's no meteors from launching rockets.

That's weird, as far as ever saw you still got them.
