can't manually save

I started a new game for the first time since the 1.0 update and now I can't seem to save manually and have to wait for it to auto save even though the save button is still there in my esc menu. Is anyone having this issue or am I just missing something?

So when you press the Save button it doesn't then say Game Saved on the button afterwards?

I have been able to save the game and then close the game and re-open it with no issues, no progress lost. Not sure whats going on. Have you tried verifying the game files or re-installing?

There is no autosave. So if you are not having to start over every time. Then your save button is working.

no, it does not. As soon as I hit escape the save button is already highlighted a bit whiter than the other menu options and does nothing when I click it. it is like it is frozen or something. I have deleted and re installed the game, but no change.

Your not alone, im having the exact same problem and have lost chunks of progress to have to do it all again.

I have had no problems saving on Windows 10.


My saves are stored on Steam cloud which is the default for most steam games.

Do you use or have a controller plugged in? Unplug it.

The game autosaves every 15 minutes, since 2021 according to the changelog. Not sure why all the top google results for this question are wrong.
