Terraforming index increase
Hi, reached 15 GTi, and it seems like its increasing slower and slower, is that normal?
also does heat and pressure still has an impact on the terraforming index past a certain point?

Look at your huge terraformation panel and it shows what TI consists of. For me it was basically O2 and small parts of heat, pressure, biomass so I focused on increasing O2 even further.

Some people try balanced approaches but for me it seems like a waste to spread your resources (past the part which is required for all unlocks in their own lines). Why would you increase pressure income 10x when it is lagging behind o2 income 100x when you can increase o2 income 2x for the same effort. First one will give 10% total increase, while second - almost 100%.

It is normal that progress slows down if you stop increasing the gains. It's just linear if you don't change anything, so the more time you spend in this state, the less you will gain relative to what you already have. You need to keep increasing the gains unless you want to wait forever.

For example, if you have 100 oxygen per minute and start from zero o2, then after 100 minutes you will have 100*100=10 000 O2. In the next minute you will only increase your total amount by 1%. If you wait 1000 minutes, then in the next minute you will only increase your total amount by 0.1%.

The terraforming index is just the combined total of Heat, Pressure, Oxygen, Plants, Insects and Animals.
It is possible to completely terraform the planet only increasing one of these, it would just take an extremely long time with default settings

I mean it seems like I was gaining Ti faster before. Maybe its just because I was exploring, but now it seems like I looked everything and I just need to wait for Ti to go up
So there is no limit, I can increase heat as much a I want it will still impact Ti the same way? there is no decrease?

Except for that increasing just one aspect does not unlock new equipment and recipes for you. Each has its own unlock line.

Here is my terraformation progress at the end. As you can see 9000 (normalized value) comes from O2, while 430 (or just 4.5% of total) comes from other sources.

You end all corresponding unlocks at 155ppm O2 (155 normalized), 1.85mk heat (1.85 normalized), 13.33 Pa pressure (13.33 normalized), and some value for biomass that I can't check but it is also significantly lower than O2. So your O2 will be higher just because you need higher values to complete its line. If it will be higher anyway, there is no reason not to focus on it further to get to the final 5000 from 155. Yeah, you can focus on Heat for example, and make it dominating, but increasing O2 income 2x is much easier than increasing heat income 168x (84x to catch up to o2 and then extra 2x) compared to what you needed to finish their line.

As I said before, when you stop increasing the gains, the progress eventually slows down. Heat is almost useless for Ti because it is far behind O2, only focus on it for its own unlock line. Pressure is slighly behind O2 so it may help a little. Main progress for total terraformation comes from O2 anyway.

I know it may look like self-fullfilling prophecy with me showing my screen. If I focused on O2, obviously my O2 will be much higher than everything else. But those numbers which show the end of their own unlocks also confirm that you will need higher O2 gains just to get those unlocks at approximately the same time. But even this doesn't mean that you can't focus on something else. So just compare what gives the main gain in your own game and focus on it, or keep spreading it evenly if they are close to each other for you. The main thing is you still need to improve the gains instead of just waiting.

thanks,
one last thing, if I put 2 tree generator next to eachother, they still produce their max output right? there is no overlapping of "production zone" or something?

nope, there isn't
and you want those quite close to each other, you can find multiplier fuses later, put a machine optimizer with those fuse next to the tree spreaders, and both get the bonus :)

yeah I got plenty of fuses, I explored all wrecks very early ^^ that was quite a long walk, I realised later that paths opened to make it much quicker...
I got almost only oxygen fuses though
