Snapping/Building

Is there really no way to snap a living compartment to a foundation? That’s a big ouch in design, no?

The living compartments are meant to go directly on the ground or on another living compartment. Not foundations. Those are for catwalks, platforms for other things, stairs, ect. So no need to put them down first.

The foundation blocks aren't building blocks. They're there only to make the ground level, because there's almost no level ground on the game's map, it's all sloping or bitty. Use foundation blocks to make the ground you want to build on level, then forget them. Actual building components do snap together.

I use them to line up the proper height of my base and then I put them in for aesthetics. It just looks nicer to me if my base isn't floating like Criss Angel.
They're not meant to snap to anything but each other and a few other pieces like rocket platforms.

Aware of all this info. My complaint is that there/s no easy way place compartments exactly where you want them on foundations.

I'm aware of that. It would just make sense to put compartments down evenly on foundations without fighting it. And catwalks are catwalks, foundations are foundation. They are meant to be under compartments.
