What Next?
For the most part, the roadmap has been fulfilled.

This launch and updates leading up to it have been absolutely amazing.

But where does the game go from here?

Will there be more future biomes?
(There appears to be some space for them.)

Will there be more secrets?
(I really hope so, they're very addictive to find.)

I really don't know what more could be added.

More planets to terraform, maybe? :-D

I would certainly love that.
It's on the road map.

I honestly don't know what to do with myself after finishing the current map.

Build a house out of wood?

I usually just start a new game. I like to choose 'random' for the starting point, and see how well I can adapt my base to each new location - some are tougher than others, but it is almost always possible to cobble up something pretty sweet if you think about it some. Changing the specs to make your optimal game can be kinda cool too, there's lots of ways to customize your new game, some of the options can change the gameplay a fair bit, worth fooling around with some in my books! :-)

This is from one of the developers news updates. We will continue to maintain the game by adding new content. We have already started working on the next free update and we will continue to add regular free updates to the game, trying to deliver several updates per year. We're also thinking about DLC, like new planets to explore, but that will take a little more time.

Lots of calls for another planet map to terraform. Most with programming experience know why it won't be able to be procedurally generated. Would be really cool to find some trail crumb that leads to where the Warden people went and then craft shuttle to head there to see more of their story unfold. Possibly have damage on entry/crash that wipes out a lot of the building unlocks and then have to sorta start over, but maybe not as far back.

Theu stated in 1.0 notes. They are going to continue to improve the game and add ideas. They also said maybe down the line a DLC of another planet.

Yes, more planets to terraform would be awesome.

would be really cool if you blast off from the first world, to "accidently" crash onto another planet back at square #1

A back to nature update or DLC would be good.

More insects, more amphibians, more mammals ( not just change the look of a few), birds etc

Instead of scientific equipment dotting the landscape the tree spreaders are tree stumps, fish spreaders are Lilly pads or go under water etc

Another biome and more secrets and story.

More decorative items on trade rocket.

Currently I would just like QOL improvements.

1) Foundation grids should snap to objects better
2) Foundation grids the same square size as actual pods so you can snap to those correctly
3) Ramps instead of staircases - just a 45 degree foundation grid
4) Staircases the same size as the height of a foundation grid because none of this matches up
5) Internal staircase unit so you don't have to use ladders which are not fun
6) Double height or 1.5 height living compartments to make it easier to put some things in them
7) In the build menu, a small number that shows the number of reactors you've built even if this is gated behind advancement - it'd be huge to be able to see if you've built a reactor yet there
8) Glass doors - so you can put a door on a curved glass edge or similar
9) The ability to destroy some of the smaller wrecks that are currently immovable - not the explorable full size wrecks, but the fragments of stuff.
10) Removing the supply options on Food Grower storage because I gather from a recent post that doesn't do anything so I was wasting my time trying to set it (and same for anything else that has it and doesn't need it)
11) Ability to send stuff from the de-constructor thing that breaks stuff down, straight to an attached storage box - if you break down uranium rods you get massive piles to pick up
12) Ability to break down more than one item at once - so a Tier 2 recycler (sic?) with more slots.
13) A desalination plant that you can park on the beach and is even faster at supplying water than the other two but expensive to build
14) Bridges you can put over rivers and stuff, just small ones for ornamentation
15) Resize any building that doesn't interact with the foundation grid system properly and overhangs it or can't clip to it, and make sure that everything clips together perfectly because it's insanely frustrating not being able to get a stairway to match up between two levels of a base on a foundation grid from the actual doorway of a unit, down one level and have it match the top of the next grid. You can't go out of a second storey unit, with stairs, straight to a foundation grid a distance away
16) Staircases that have 90 degree bends or fold back on themselves to gain height. So it should look more like a normal building fire escape/external staircase that just goes up not in a straight line.
17) Pillars that you can attach to the bottom of a staircase so that you can make it look like it's designed by a human not just hanging in mid air
18) Someone to go through the advanced settlement mods in Fallout 4, and then copy and paste any units and shapes that make sense for base building because that system is clunky but has a lot more features and years of mods. So it's full of shapes and sizes we don't have (you don't need wooden shacks for this game obviously).
19) Gangways or walkways - a thin foundation grid that's for being a gangway around or between grids.

Honestly, all I want is relatively small stuff. Yes, going to another planet would be cool, definitely. Happy to pay for it with a DLC. For the main game though, just tweaks for a while please, and entire patch or three of the changes currently going through the dev branch would be absolutely great. :)

For me personally it would be good if following 3 items are improved in this order:

1) Housing/machines/foundations snapping together so it looks good
2) Animals/trees/plants should reflect visually (in the gameplay world) what is shown on the info screens. Animals/trees/plants should be everywhere not only near their spawning locations
3) Numbers on the status/info screens should make sense:
Liquid water at 273K // upper limit for pressure/heat/oxygen

resizing the compartments to fit the foundations would break everyone's game, also there is also a counter for machines built in the power screen.

After successful teraformation you escape to a new planet and start over with new clues that could still tie into the original story and have lifeforms that become dangerous
