Devs a tip to make the game better..........ore extractors dump ore mined thats not required.
The ore extractors simply dump out the ore thats not asked for and continue drilling.

Having the ore drills bunged up constantly with crap is really a bad feature get them to auto dump whats not required please thanks.

Well there are 3 types. The T3 can be set to only mine the type of ore you want.

For the T1 and T2, once you have the drones, simply place a shredder machine next to the ore extractor, set it to shred the items you don't want and the priority to -1. The drones will remove the items you don't want and put them in the shredder. Should you need those items (like a storage set to demand them), the drone will transport it to the storage bin until it is full and then shred them when it is full.

Thats a great idea thanks.

BTW, this works for other types of things that generate more than one resource. For instance the T2 bee hives. They make honey and bee larva. If you don't remove both, one will fill it up and stop production of resources. You might not use both equally, so you will want to shred the extras once you have filled all the containers that collect the items.

If you don't want bees, just build Bee Hive T1s instead of T2s. There's no need to update if you don't want the update.

T1 beehive: costs 25 kW/s energy, gives 350 g/s plants and 15 g/s insect.
T2 beehive: costs 95 kW/s energy, gives 950 g/s plants, and 390 g/s insect.

yes the T2's produce bees that you may not necessarily want at the time. But they are over 20x more effective at raising the insect level for Ti, and they are needed for making outdoor farms, and insect rockets which will further boost the insect stat, that many have noted is hard to do with the standard means (butterfly farms and the like)

Given that the level one mining machine always pops out WELL before drones arrive, I personally think it makes much more sense to collect all the 'dross' materials and use them to make the super-alloy you always need at that stage - or am I the only one who's noticed that the 'unwanted' materials will always add up to making a few more superalloy?

I just plunk a cubicle nearby the miner and put storage and an advanced craft station inside, then pop by occasionally, grab the dross and walk away with some more superalloy. Saves a LOT of trouble and time! :-D

I want the bees, but at some point, there are too many and they clog the production. My solution works fine though. And yes, the T2 is better than the T1 for insect production as someone pointed out.

Ditto with the bees - rather than shred them, deconstruct them to get a HEAP of fertilizer and mutagens back, I find I always need more fertilizers and mutagens than I can make at that stage, so thankfully deconstucting the bees saves me from having to collect all that stuff to make more. Why sweat it when you can just rake it in? :-D

I wish they had a machine that was completely automatic for deconstructing. We the recycler, but it just spits them out on the ground.
