Yes, I knew you had to invite them, but just wanted to be sure that the original game did not have to be specified as multiplayer from the time you set it up. Because I would seriously love to have friends "visit" my planet and be able to "visit" theirs. Wasn't sure this would be possible in a game that had been single player since early access.
Also, is there a chance of corrupting the save file if you do this?
Keep in mind, any new guest will have NO upgrades - only basic gear. Obviously, they can craft them with the base / tools you already placed, and they can even build their own. The save game keeps that player's (guest's) inventory up to date, provided you save the file, as the host.
When you launch the game that you had previously invited a guest, you'll have to re-send them the code, as it changes each launch (I think).
Appreciate the info. I needed to know that if I "have a friend over to play" I can then go back to my solo game without any issues, or invite them again if I choose. I'm in the very end game stage and I'd like to preserve this save permanently, even if I go on to play another game at some point. :)
