Terraformation screen bugged? (Demo)

Im playing the demo and currently stuck on the quest that tells me to craft a terraformation screen, but it just doesnt let me put it anywhere. Its red on every wall and floor or any surface i can think of. I was able to craft a blueprint screen but im currently out of ideas. Is this a known bug on the demo or something?

No bug there. It goes on a wall and you may have to rotate it until it turns green.

As Coops said, it goes on a wall and you may need to rotate it as it may not be completely clear which direction the mounting post is facing (it needs to point towards the wall). It also wants a decent amount of separation from the floor or ceiling - just simply not clipping through isn't always enough.

i tried rotating it around every wall inside a building and it refused to work, i talked to a friend who said something about having to put it above a desk? and that finally made it snap to the wall. No idea if thats intended or what but it was the only thing that made it work.
