Always having issues deconstructing in multiplayer

Playing a game with my bro, we are quite aways in, hes always the one deconstructing bc my deconstructing doesnt work. It turns red then insta goes away, he walks up and just deconstructs it but I have to aim at and away 30 + times and sometimes I still cant deconstruct. Any fix for this?

Currently bugged, only the host can deconstruct or within range to allow anyone else on the server to deconstruct pods and foundations. There has been no word from the developers acknowledging this bug yet.

This has happened to the world I've been playing on with my friend. I started to notice it after maybe 6-8 hours of playtime in the save. We started rebuilding our base and I couldn't deconstruct the foundations or living compartments. I was trying to set up an outpost away from our main base, and I was not able to pick any building pieces up after putting them down. My friend (the host) can deconstruct anything, and if he's in the same building as I am, my deconstruction tool works just fine. No amount of rejoining, restarting games/computers has made the bug go away, it's persistent across sessions. I also submitted feedback within the game whenever I encountered it initially.

I assume it was originally to stop people being asses but at the same time it doesn't really make much sense since it's not like you can just randomly join a server.
