Frame Rate
I have been playing first person shooters for the last 25 years and this is the first game that has caught my interest and I have been playing for about 2 years now , 8.5 PTi , NO mod's ever! Now with this last update I can't play because of the frame rate DROP, 8 FPS.......I would like to know why and get it corrected. this is my go to game................

Thanks for your feedback! We have identified a performance issue on a few specific conditions and we should fix this in a patch pretty soon!

I was lucky to have the opposite, im getting a much improved frame rate and I have a huge base. Im sure if they managed to improve the optimisation they will be able to fix the low fps issue too.

I know you are very busy with the 1.0 release but I thought I would give this info for hopefully latter consideration.

Keep up the great work

My main save before "Procedural Wrecks Update" up was running between 25 FPS inside and 45 FPS outside, now inside is 8/9 FPS and outside is 14 FPS. This in my main save and it is around 8.5 + PTi.

I have another save that is running 118 FPS inside or outside. it is only around 18 GTi.

I have run both of these through many online checkers and they can't fix it. I have done a line by line comparison with a back up file from 1-8-2024, can't find anything obvious.

I have well over 800 hours in this save and I can't stand the thought of loosing it.

I have been looking at my save file more, and it is looking like the static terrain changes have caused a lot of the problems, it should take me several weeks to resolve this problem by moving the objects embedded in the new terrain. Yes I understand this is a EA release but never thought that the static terrain would change, it took me several hours to get my butterfly farms back in the water fall area a few months back and yet I am still looking forward to the 1.0 update. Don't know when I will be able to play it, but I am waiting........

Maybe share your sytem specs first, and also more datails about when and where those drops happen?

more than enough, I have secondary saves that run at 118 FPS
It is not a drop it is constant. this problem is only in my 8,5 PTi save

i 7 @ 4.3 ghz, 3060 TI, 16 gig ram, cpu runs under 55% as does the gpu

What i7 exactly?
Game doesn't use more than 2-4 threads anyway, so if you've got a 8 core i7 for example, that means about half of your cores are bored, while the others are getting stressed, resulting in a cpu usage of round about 50%.

But that also means, your CPU/RAM combination is limiting your gpu.
So your cpu is bottlenecking.

So my guess is that your 8.5 pti save is the most recent and progressed one, dealing wirh a lot more constructions compared to your other saves.

The more you add (and the more content added to the game), the heavier the impact on your performance.

Try to optimize your base(s).
Reduce the amount of drones not needed, replace old gear by modern ones, use several bases that have their own purpose each (eg one for power supply, one for research, one for heating etc)
Make sure they are out of sight of each other so the impact of the rendering distance is reduced.

Also consider capping your fps to 60, which is mor than enough for this game.
Also increase your graphic settings despite of cpu relevant stuff.
Increasing resolution might be an option (der?)

This last update {at 3:30 AM this morning} has fixed my FPS issues, and actually gave me a increase above what I was getting before the proc. wrecks update.

Thanks for the input, I had moved everything away from my main base a year ago

Same here , huge lag , I'm running an old ( 2011 ) i7-870 overclocked to 3.86 Ghz , EVGA GTX 1070 with 8 Gig VRAM , 16 Gig RAM ( PC3200 ) , Ran almost perfectly before , had tiny little stutters .
