Keep up the great work
My main save before "Procedural Wrecks Update" up was running between 25 FPS inside and 45 FPS outside, now inside is 8/9 FPS and outside is 14 FPS. This in my main save and it is around 8.5 + PTi.
I have another save that is running 118 FPS inside or outside. it is only around 18 GTi.
I have run both of these through many online checkers and they can't fix it. I have done a line by line comparison with a back up file from 1-8-2024, can't find anything obvious.
I have well over 800 hours in this save and I can't stand the thought of loosing it.
It is not a drop it is constant. this problem is only in my 8,5 PTi save
Game doesn't use more than 2-4 threads anyway, so if you've got a 8 core i7 for example, that means about half of your cores are bored, while the others are getting stressed, resulting in a cpu usage of round about 50%.
But that also means, your CPU/RAM combination is limiting your gpu.
So your cpu is bottlenecking.
So my guess is that your 8.5 pti save is the most recent and progressed one, dealing wirh a lot more constructions compared to your other saves.
The more you add (and the more content added to the game), the heavier the impact on your performance.
Try to optimize your base(s).
Reduce the amount of drones not needed, replace old gear by modern ones, use several bases that have their own purpose each (eg one for power supply, one for research, one for heating etc)
Make sure they are out of sight of each other so the impact of the rendering distance is reduced.
Also consider capping your fps to 60, which is mor than enough for this game.
Also increase your graphic settings despite of cpu relevant stuff.
Increasing resolution might be an option (der?)
Thanks for the input, I had moved everything away from my main base a year ago
