you will unlock MOAR different rockets later, that boost MOAR different stuff.
also, you generally need MOAR stuff if you feel stuff and the number is rising to slow, you can build multiple of everything, use that to build like your life depends on it (like it does in the game)
EVERYTHING is available from the start, construction wise.
Build slowly. Create a plan and stick with it.
And plant grass. EVERYWHERE! And immediately plant the flowers.
I am only using trade rockets and I am, just for now, only selling bacteria.
I want nothing in orbit but the gps. And it isn't up yet.
I have a sprawling, GIANT complex of walkways with isolated but connected pods.
Power here, heat here, lab here. Isolated for imaginary disasters.
I found a new way of building down from the overhead gridwork.
I had rain on day one. No animals yet.
The grind for all the critters is nuts. We Need Limiters in the machines so that drones can do the small steps to make things happen. BUT, I have a hab suspended over a shelter and feeder, with clear floors, so I can watch the beasties roam, from above. Once I have them.
Vary the play and figure out the slowest way to get things done.
The milestone "gifts" of plans from the folks who stranded us take too long.
Finding chips in ships? Too slow.
Keep the old game, but try it unlocked.
The main hook of this game is literally, progressing through the different things you can build. If people want to play some creative mode, the game already offers that.
You basically have to keep up with new technology. What new comes is almost always like 4 to 5 times better than the previous. So much so that old things are more worth their resources and destroying them, then keeping them. So my big tip would be to destroy old technology once you have it replaced with new and get your resources and some power back.
Plan on a base that is partly fixed, like maybe where your storage and terminals are and then another part that is more dynamic, like your oxygen, pressure and heat machines. Since these things are going to be constantly destroyed and replaced with better ones, it becomes more a mental roadblock if you are constantly trying to make things orderly and nice, when in reality, you need to tear everything down and place new machines.
Rockets are vital but the modules that allow you to put the fuses in are awesome.
Be sure to upgrade the tier on anything you can as soon as it unlocks as the leap in speed is immense with each upgrade.
Please can you tell me what you're going to use the rockets engines for, if you don't use them for rockets?
You don't need many drones. Launch a few rockets of each type that adds a bonus (not two GPS satellites of the same tier).
Also check that you've upgraded any solar panels, or heaters that you can.
Do not hoard special resources unless there's a specific item you need to build like a new oxygen tank.
You can always demolish a building that contains a rare resource like iridium. You might lose access to it temporarily but some of them you don't need.
So demolish something you don't need all the time, and turn it into a heater for now to generate heat, or a drill for pressure.
Also - exploring more means you find blue and gold crates. A few blueprints can help you access things a bit earlier and you'll also find resources you haven't yet found in the map that can let you build upgrades of various kinds.
Check the things you can build - for your character to use first and make sure you're moving as fast as you're currently able, have as much oxygen etc etc.
But then check the buildings you can build. Have you got an upgrade to Heaters and not noticed it so you could already be building Tier 2 Heaters but haven't done so?
Did you completely ignore building a Biodome or something? The build menu doesn't show how many of each building you have so you can't easily see that a building is New and you haven't made one at all yet or that an old one got replaced and you haven't upgraded.
