Algae generators stop working?
I've got three T1 algae generators setup now, and while they've all produced plenty of green above the water, there's no algae to harvest under the surface. I need that algae for fertilizer, and all that entrails. This run is only about 5% into the Moss stage with ~70MTi.

Make sure the water is deep enough and not to close to the shore. Pick them up and put them down again and see if that fixes them.

I tried that already, no luck.

The first one I put in did not produce any algae. The water was still rising. I moved it when the level was full and it started working. Is the water all the way up yet?

Oh, also, try saving and shutting down and restarting. There is a bug with the bees that when you put them in the hives they are frozen in space until you relog. perhaps the agae does not grow until a relog?

Water level does not seem to make a difference - even small ponds can produce algae. Go underwater and find some strands. If you swim close, you should see a pop-up that lets you know how far along the algae is before being harvested. Until they reach 100%, they can't be harvested. I think the T1s take longer than the T2s.

There seems to be a new-ish glitch - at least it happened to me this week - I put my algae generators in while the water was quite low, and while the algae generator went up with the water - the algae growth didn't.

When I went to check on it I thought at first that there wasn't any algae there, but when I looked down I saw them - hovering at about the level I had first put the generator in at. Saving and quitting and reloading seems to fix it, but it kept happening until the water level stabilised ...so maybe try looking down? They just might be there after all...

That maybe what I was seeing too. I did not look down, but after the restart it was fine.

Glad to hear it's working now! If it happens again, at least now you'll know to look down as well as around and about... sneaky lil algae, lol! :-)

Working for me now as well. Might have been related to the water level, as I built the first while the main lake was still filling. I deconstructed that one and rebuilt it, then built two more after I'd made more progress towards the moss stages. They're all producing algae now.

Really stops you in your tracks when you can't get fertilizer.

Too right! And to me, every time I run into a pile-up like that, it's also an indicator that I've gotten my numbers out of balance again - so I run around like a mad thing for awhile working on stuff that will get the other numbers up, working towards a better balance.

And THAT, in a nutshell, is why I am so persistent in playing this game, I think - it's all about discovering the best balance, and that can change SO much, in game, but also from game to game... try _this_ instead of _that_, or, see what happens if you do _this_... or, oops, let's not do _that_ again... and etc! .... :-D

I was about to type this. I put down several algae generators but didn't come back to harvest them for quite awhile later. Had the same thing happen. The harvestable algae was way below the the generators and the floating algae graphic.
