No idea but sure something is coming that it will be needed. All these new goodies in game am thinking about a brand new and better base and move some things around .Trying to think this out in my head right now and see if want to try it.

I've rebuilt the portal forty times, but I couldn't see a passage that needed solar. It will definitely be a very useful piece. I'm hopeful.

These solar crystals can be crafted. I found a chip (blueprint) for it.

I found several new chips in the portals. For example, to create a fountain, a fire, a pot with a tree.

Nope. I've only seen this in drone logistics settings. But I didn’t find the key card itself.

Found a solar quartz as well but have not found the item you use it with or the new tree plant. Have found the fire pit and fountain. Both of those look pretty good.

I've been holding off on doing the story line until 1.0 release. I haven't seen any of these, so now my curiosity is piqued.
