Where is a good source of aluminum? Meteor storms sometimes gives me some but not always and im kinda on hold in my advancement cuz im having hard time finding this stuff. Any tips? And yes ive scavenged most crates laying around inside wrecks that i could reach at this point.

Head up the hill from the crash site then look to your right. You see those shiny rocks? go search there. Lots of aluminum. Build a shelter so you can refill your O2 tanks.

Before you can build ore extractors to mine aluminum from the shiny hills, another good place to look is the meteor fields. To get there go to the broken warp gate in the desert and head far south from there. Make a right (west) before heading into the volcanic area and you'll find an area with lots of shiny ground and a starfield. Lots of aluminum and other valuable ores here out in the open.

Did you start in the default starting area. If so, look at the cliffs out of the lake. The one you see sand falling from is the iridium cave, it also has aluminium laying around. Across the lake front on the other side of the lake with all the shiny pillars is the aluminium area, it also has aluminium laying around. Then straight out from the lake bed you can see a ship, it is next to a maze like area that also has aluminium laying around in the bottom of the maze area.

If you have unlocked ore extractor Tier 1, you can mine aluminium in the aluminium area. After you have placed the ore extractor look in the container and if there is an aluminium symbol it is placed correctly. If it is iron you have missed the aluminium area, and if it is iridium you are in the wrong area.

Ore extractor Tier 1 can mine aluminium, cobalt, iron, magnesium, silicon, titanium, and sulfur. To mine aluminium and sulfur it must be placed in the correct area. And it mines randomly, you will always get a mix of ores with the tier 1 extractor.
