Underground building?

Unsure if anyone has suggested it thus far, but it would be cool to be able to build your base modules beginning on the surface but going underground, this way you have more surface space too.

Not only suggested, but it has actually been done by using glitches.

Well fair, I figured as much, I was hoping for an official implementation if possible, and if not, maybe an idea for the modding community.

first of all this is not mine craft. And yes it is possible to clip through certain areas to get under the map. I build a teleporter under there just for fun.

It's not Minecraft. But given that Xiaodan and Ikhlas both built the vast majority of their structures underground, it seems a bit silly that we can't.

Done that ! But last update has block access to underground levels I climb down a ladder end up falling into the void , another base I can teleport in sub level 4 of a base but can not climb up above sub level 3

Use Dead underground lower level as stating point's by building a ladder up then build a compartment and airlock
