Terraformation index/stages
I've just reached the final Early Access stage (mammals), or at least it looks like it since the counter stopped. Here's my question; is the Terraformation Index tied to the stages counter or are the stages simply timed? I'm asking since I want to continue playing but if my index is somehow tied to the stopped stage counter I'm concerned about breaking my progress should the next stage be released.

Having said that, you can continue to play on that save because the fact that the numbers are ticking sooo slowly that it won't affect terraform progress. Leastways untill the next update comes along and maybe gives us more powerful equipment....

No no. I meant the stage cheange counter. It's stuck at 00,00%. The Terraforming numbers are still ticking over yes, that's why I'm concerned about breaking progress since it doesn't translate to the stage change that stopped going.

Actually nevermind, you are right. It just ticked over to 00.01%. It is indeed VERY slow. Thank you :)

What happens if the temperature goes far above the normal? Can it reach very hot surface temperature?

I was wondering about that as well, overpressure, global warming and such. But then again the numbers at a certain level go so w slowly you'd have to spend weeks waiting for it or what's more likely oveload the engine with buildings

The game isn't intended to be anywhere near scientifically accurate, so unrealistically high values for your terraformation factors won't be a problem (there are players that have gotten their worlds to over 100% oxygen, for example).

I'm surprised nobody explained it yet. The developers implemented a system to let you continue playing the game when you have got ahead of them stage they have reached.

Mammals aren't in the game yet. But the developers don't want to make it too obvious that the game isn't finished. So they set the lower limit for mammal stage so high that only the most obsessed player can reach it.

When mammal stage is released (I don't know when), either the lower limit for mammals will be moved to a lower, more reachable point, or the update will include tools which allow you to terraform faster. Maybe both.

If you've worked hard before that happens you may find that many things unlock all at once for you. But that might spoil the flow of the game and the feeling that you have to work hard.
