* Pulsar Quartz - This is how I made my "fortune"
1 Rockets (or 2 in alternating, constant runs - offset launches by 200-300 seconds))
Once sufficient production is setup, auto-launch the Trade Rockets and play normally.
* Fusion Cells - Moar per rocket trip, but costs WAY too many resources to make
I do have 2 T2 Storage Cabinets full, to offset the costs of additional Fuse purchases.
I use 1-2 manual Trade Rockets to launch these Fusion Cells and make purchases.
* Anything else - Too low value and/or too many Trade Rocket trips
Send 'em if you got 'em, but just generates income too slowly and consumes drones.
* And, finally, Shipwrecks & Chest Meteors will get you nearly halfway to 100K alone.
Best in the early setup as they help you to get/purchase the necessary Trade Items.
---
For "sufficient production, you'll need:
Per ingredient site:
8 T3 Ore Extractors (for EACH of the mineral sites: Ir, Os, Zeolite, and U)
6 Gas Extractors (for the Methane)
2 T2 Machine Optimizers (w/3 Production Fuses each), for EACH ingredient site.
Purchase these as you can afford them for faster/smoother production
4 Drone Station (1 per each mineral site)
200-225 T2 Drones
1 Drone Station (per gas extraction site)
1 Drone Station (near the auto-crafters to feed the Trade Rockets)
4 Auto-Crafters (to generate all the Pulsar Quartz)
5 T2 Storage Cabinets (full) near the Auto-Crafters to receive all these ingredients)
Granted it takes a while to setup the production, but once it's in place you should be able to supply Trade Rockets for constant production with just T2 Extractor inventories.
With 2 Trade Rockets, the production falls behind slightly after a few RL hours, but the T2 Storage Cabinets take up the slack.
I just turn on the Trade Rockets during a play session, and reap the rewards while I am exploring or refining my building sites.
Pause rocket production if/when the supply of ingredients can't keep up.
This should get you to 100K in a RL game play.
Boy, that answer kinda got away from me there.
"This is taking awhile, I guess I'll build another thing."
Pulsar quartz is the most efficient, so make the rounds speeding up whichever part of that process is slowing you down. Which mineral storage is empty? Are all the rockets gone? Are the drones all being used or are they piling up at the docking station? Do I have enough of all of the above to put up another autocrafter?
But it doesn't hurt, and is less boring, to vary the mix as long as the other products aren't competing with the pulsar (like rods).
I ended up with four rockets going, and sat afk a bit listening for the sounds of single meteors that either have chests or pulsars. The chests will boost you up quite a bit.
I did it the dead opposite way. I did use Fusion Cells and the smaller items like Fabric and Super food so then that took the "high" demand off Fusion Cells. The smaller items might not earn you as much looking at their "base value" but the fabric and food have no other demands so are freely available and dont drain other resources. It simply sends more rockets and doesnt use more drones as you suggest, because the drones are used regardless no matter what you chose for supply. Did this with 7 rockets. Each varying between 250-900 TTs.
One locker (T1) of each resource to make Pulsar Quartz
One autocrafter.
One drone station
25 drones
3 T2 Miners for each resource
Once it was all automated I just focused on base building / exploring.
(I'm very patient)
I only used a single autocrafter for pulsar quartz, and build up my infrastructure enough to keep it running. This meant I did not have easy access to several component resources for my use for things other than trade. Once I hit 100,000, I stopped trading pulsar quartz.
If you are really into trade, you'll want multiple autocrafters for pulsar quartz, and massive infrastructure to support them. I wasn't that into it.
Circuit boards look like a good trade, but they aren't. It takes too many mushroom farms to be efficient for most people. I have an autocrafter for circuit boards to take care of my day to day needs, but if I use a lot of boards at once (for example to trade) then much of my inventory system suffers and my drones get overwhelmed.
Bacteria Samples are low return, but very low investment. A small self contained production area will produce slow but steady income in the background once you set it up. And it is pretty easy and cheap to set up.
If you have a lot of bees, fabric is another low return low investment trade. Recycle the bees to bet the larva, then make silk worms. This takes a bit more effort to set up, but not a lot more. And once set up it is self contained and just runs in the background.
