I can turn off the screen shake, how about letting me turn down the volume on weather (and meteor) effects?
I mean - first task of atmosphere is to stop them from landing. With a breathable atmosphere 99% of meteors should burn and make a fireshow in sky or they will undone a most of our terraforming efforts.
Even if it's story-related - it will be nice to get some kind of "Meteoroid Protection satellite" for lategame, once they're more annoying then exciting & we have Miners doing their job.

The one between the cave and maze is right about where I am standing in this shot...

There was that one setup you can try where someone used scaffolds to catch meteors before they hit the ground to make it easier to farm the materials. Never tried it myself but probably still works.
