-- if all that's needed is an initial inventory set to " supply " the drones, could we have the auto-crafters setup so that they can send out and make more drones automatically by also having the auto-crafters set to " supply " the drones just as the drone stations do?
if we can, this will save the tedium of having to manually create and send out hundreds of drones at the stations. - all i've managed to get working around that so far, is having the auto-crafted drones be sent to an inventory, though those that go in can't be sent out of that same inventory.
Thanks for your answer. I also checked immediately, there is enough power. 18500 kw/h should be enough. Unfortunately, nothing is happening with the drones.
Thanks for your answer. Of course I entered supply and demand. Otherwise I would not have written that the drones no longer work after the update. I'm trying the following now, setting supply/demand again. Maybe it works.

Unfortunately that doesn't work either.
No problem :) No, full containers are clear. I had noticed it while processes were running (mutagen production) that my minions weren't on the move.
Your question isn't clear. The drone stations normally don't "supply" drones in the supply/demand system. The drone stations give drones their assignments.
(The only reason so far to set stations to "supply" drones is when trying to upgrade T1 drones to T2 drones. By using "supply" on a station and "demand" on a storage locker you can pull the T1 drones out of your system. Otherwise it is hard to tell T1 from T2.)
Auto crafters can make drones and supply them to stations (you also need to set a station to "demand" drones). Be warned, the stations never fill up so you'll be producing new drones forever.
-- though my question was more of ( if it would be possible to have the drones auto-crafted and sent out by the auto-crafters. ).
as when i tried to send drones to the drone station via auto-crafter, they never left the station. - then tried to send the drones to inventory boxes, but couldn't have then auto-deployed from there either.
though going by what you said, i guess my game is just bugged. - given that drones sent to the drone station would've normally been getting deployed.
the inventory i sent them to was the storage locker T2 ( 80 capacity ).
which did fill up when set to demand the drones, but they wouldn't auto deploy even after getting set to supply. ( had to manually deposit them back in the drone station for them to re-deploy. ).
and when i had the drone station set to demand, it just recalled all the sent out drones ( in addition to receiving the auto-crafted ones ), without deploying them.
the drone station only started re-deploying the drones after i set it back to supply them.
not sure if it's an bug or if i'm just doing something wrong somehow.
No, I hadn't given any such orders at all. Where's your suggestion from earlier?
There is one tedious way to make this work again:
1) Delete supply and demand on every miner, every container.
2) Remove every drone from the drone station and store them in storage containers.
3) Deconstruct the drone station.
4) Sanity check: Save and exit. Use Steam to Verify Local File Integrity.
5) Construct the Drone Station again.
6) Recycle one of your drones and then rebuild it at the Drone Station.
7) Setup supply and demand for the one new drone to verify that it's working again.
I'm in the process of clearing every supply and demand. This will take a while. I'll report back if it worked.
PS: Collecting the algae with the auto-crafter is no problem. They grow back the way they should.
Could you share your save? (Perhaps come to the official Discord and post it there.)
-- all i was asking was if it were possible to have the auto-crafters send drones out like the drone stations do, while auto-crafting them.
but if the drones can only be sent out from the drone station, that answers that.
-- thank you.
