Golden Butterfly larva
So, I used to use the ancient temple/mansion (where you find golden larva in the golden crates) to harvest/collect more golden larva (and others) form the ground around it, but since the latest patch, I've not found any. Anyone else having the same issue?

You can use this in incubator : rare larva + mutagen lvl 2 (and not 1) + fertilizer 1

There has been issues where they stop spawining lately. Some have said exiting all the way out of the game and steam, and then reloading has helped them start spawining again for a bit at least.

Yeah, exiting makes a few spawn for about 3 minutes. I managed to find 2 rare larva. I've not seen a SINGLE butterfly larva on the ground and i'm at about 2TTi now.

I got the 2 golden butterflies and managed to make a few 1200% ones too, but the rest are 100-400%, because I can't find any rares without constantly exiting the game and spending ages spinning around looking for them.

actually, i never could find any golden larva lying around on the ground until after the last update

Simply saving and loading the save from the in-game menu is enough for me, but they will slow down again after a bit. Enough players with varying levels of progress have reported this so I'm sure it'll be looked at soon.
For now, though, go to the location you hope to find the golden larva, save, reload the save, slowly turn around and larvae will spawn - it was never a high chance to get a golden but pick up the ugly ones and more will spawn - until you have to save/load again.

Personally, having larva crawling all over the place, inside buildings and even underwater, always bugged me a bit (pun intended) so to have them clear up a bit is almost welcome - perhaps just cut down the spawns by 90% in the first place and leave it at that?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I've just tested it and the "fix" works. Save, quit to main menu then load back in will sort the problem for a while

I don’t know if it’s just a placebo solution but I found that collecting any type of larva will spawn more of them.
It seems to me like there is a fixed number of larva that can be spawned and if you leave them then they stop spawning.

When I do need some rare larva, I make sure to collect every type and they just keep spawning.

I found that as well, I made a platform in the area above the wardens area, put a locker for each type of butterfly that was spawning, and then also put a trash thing for the extras (otherwise I would have had like 10 lockers or so of common).

Collecting them does definitely allow more to spawn in range, makes sense and it's been that way since they were introduced. I'm guessing there's a world limit and they're not despawning from other areas - when I go back to a place I've teleported from I swear the same larva are still there from before, this would make sense why reloading the game sees more larva spawn.

I'm sure the devs will know exactly what they changed and will put it right, I'm just guessing from playing too many games for too many years.

It is almost impossible to roll a golden larva after opening Imeo and Serena.

I make runs (tries) for golden larvaes in 4 incubators, then teleport to gardians' palace to have a look on the ground (each tp = 1 to 4 Serena larvaes in a square of +/- 25 x 25 meters, and 0 to 2 golden larvaes, and sometime other special larvaes like Alben or Lorpen), then return to base, etc.
Something else : I have begun a new game with the fish update, and I've noticed that it is very difficult to find Lorpen larvaes : I used to find them in 5-10 min near waterfall, previously (I have played 5-6 different games since I have bought Planet Crafter), but in my new game, I looked for those larvaes during more than 2 hours... ok for common, uncommon, rare larvaes : all where there, but I've never found the *biiip* Lorpen larva xD
I got this 18th and last butterfly when I was looking on the ground near gardians' palace for golden larvaes... (I've reached 1.2 TTI)

i have managed to collect all except Lorpen, before i got all my goldens through crafting. its a low percentage of getting a golden but its not too bad. i havent tried since the new update. i have spent all my time since trying to find a lorpen so if any one has any advice please reply

I found one with co / deco near stairs of the last gardian temple, as told previously (ratio = 15 serena larvaes for 4 gold, 2 Alben and 1 Lorpen).

Just abuse the teleporter. It resets existing spawns thus allowing the process to start over fresh. You can get a few minutes of farming before they dry up due to spawning inside of terrain. Rinse and repeat. I got a full chest of them just poking lost paradise whenever I was in the mood to constantly run my many incubators. And so many serenas that I shred them. Not to mention, all but two of the other rare finds in smaller amounts.

Although one of those 2 seems to have displaced its main spawn location in this update. Had to use the secondary spawn point which is riddled with the same problem as lost paradise... janky terrain eating your allowable spawn limit.
