will my whole base be under water?

i am just reaching the "era" of water and seas, and i think my whole ♥♥♥♥ will be under water, is that a big problem?

to clarify: i chose the standard spawn and built directly on the nice flat surface like direct on the ground without cronstuction under it

It depends on where you built your base. Easiest way to see is look at the numbers on the bottom left side of your screen, you should see 3 sets of numbers (123:12:123) the middle number is your height, if it is above 25 you will be fine.

If you're in the default landing zone then very likely you'll be deep under water. Look for a cliff you'll see you're actually living at the bottom of a pretty conspicuous looking bowl.

When I first started, i had the same issue since I built at the starter area. As soon as I saw the pools of water starting to build up I moved my structures up the hill to the flat area. Basically, when you come out of the start pod, turn 90 degrees to the right and look at that hill. On top of there is fine.

do you know if i can access my base if its under water or will everything be gone if i dont move it in time?

and so the sea does not rise above 25?

You won't have oxygene if your base is flooded, so it's kinda a big deal. Otherwise nothing you built will Houdini it's way out, you can still build and deconstruct underwater but will nee to mind your oxygene if you want to avoid a death by asphyxiation.

In the starting area it doesnt, I think the great rift is actually higher than that, I havent really checked lol, but there is a little bit of water there eventually. And the area where the warp gate is, is higher than that as well. You will still be able to access everything, you just wont refresh your O2.

can i build just in the air or will it fall together? do i need these construction things?
i just want to do everything right now, not that the time was for waste :D

You can build it floating in the air if you want, mine floats above the lake that forms in the starting area, with just the front entrance on a platform.

FOr now things kinda float, so You can build in the air. Personnaly I like building the iron structure underneath but even them float on some on my bases

not everything thats sand ground will be covered with water later, will it?

No, a good part of the starting area will be above the water.

If you are scared to build on another floodable area if you go a cave (there's one near the usual starting area) you can be sure it's safe. Most spaceships are also VERY dry so you can also try near one.
