Do you perhaps have streaming or screen-recording software loaded ? Or anything else that might interfere with the game ?
If you switch back to the main game instead of the beta, does that start it working again ?
You could start by installing HWMonitor:
https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
Its free and could help rule out a hardware issue. In particular, look for overheating of the GPU or SSD.
Or you could try posting your issue in the hardware and operating systems forum here on steam, if you don't get any helpful responses from this forum.
I may have fixed this issue by running Driver Booster's game mode. I didn't play long, but got about 3x as far as my best run in the last few days.
C:\Users\[user]\AppData\LocalLow\MijuGames\Planet Crafter
is there something that looks like a log file ? Does it tell you anything ?

I tried looking a bunch of it up, but mainly I just find stuff like it's a Unity problem, or an Nvidia problem, with a bunch of solutions that don't work, or only relate to other games. If I'm reading it correctly, there's actually multiple issues, so I'm not even certain which is the main problem. And, as nothing seems to come between saving the game and it crashing, any one could be the problem, and it's just not listing the one that's killing it.
In another forum here, the one of the game "PLANET S", there is a troubleshooting guide/thread that also talks about problems with Nvidia. I don't know if that can be of any help, but maybe check it out :)
The text in your log file doesn't show anything obvious. The problem you're having is not common. It's not something I've seen reported elsewhere. I'm suspecting interference from the additional software which comes with your graphics card. But I don't see why it's causing a problem with Planet Crafter and not other games using the same game engine.
As for my problem being uncommon... welcome to my world. I'm not especially bright, but I can use google just fine. I never seem to have issues other people have solved already... rofl
And yes, I play other Unity games with no issue. I'm sure there's been a crash or two over the last few months since I installed this OS, but no repeated problems, no even pre-alpha builds. What's really bugging me is it worked just fine on the same computer running Ubuntu.
What new OS? Windows 10/11? If so, try turning off Windows Game Mode.
Settings -> Gaming -> Game Mode
Its a long shot, but better to rule it out.
If another Linux OS, perhaps try going back to Ubuntu? I dabbled with Linux distros a few months ago and discovered that some are better than others.
