Solar Panel disappeared.
I am unsure what happen. I wanted to build more solar panels and suddenly when i wanted to see what materials needed to make one. Its gone!!!

I cannot seem to add screenshots on here but definitely i had them.. i have build 12 of them before.. and now that i look at my Q menu.. it never existed. I have restarted my game and its still the same. Its gone!

I bet you have a 'filter' chip in your system. This is exactly what it's made to do; hide 'obsolete' designs.

Yup it was.. Thank you for your time to response to me. It is the chip.

I am going to put that away.. I do not need to freak myself out of this. Goodness.

Yeah I tried the chip once and immediately took it out again, I need the full catalog, lol

Ya I used it for about 5 seconds lol, it's not sitting in my random thing locker, because I doubt I'll ever use it again, but kept if for in case some other item can use it later on, though I may just recycle it at some point.

I find it funny that anyone ever thinks any source of power is old and obsolete. I think with the way people work you'd want every type of power available to avoid "The Human Condition"

You need 3 lockers full of Iron to create enough windmills to match a single Reactor T1.
They also take up a lot of space which might not be available in all cases.

I only use them as markers now. (Place one next to unlooted chests, on top of 1x1 bases, as roadmarkers and so on)

Yes, the Build Menu Filter is one of the many strange and controversial things that Update 0.6.00X brought.

I like it. Almost no reason to build lower tier stuff once higher tier is unlocked, save for a few transitional areas like going from the basic solar panels to the aluminium needing ones, or from those to uranium reactors.

By the time the filter is typically obtained, those transitional areas are long past.

They are not the past and never will be when you want to take care of stylish buildings and / or move existing elements.
Not everyone is only interested in numbers.
Me and probably many people use all available tools and devices to get the right and satisfying atmosphere in the game.

What makes filter chip strange and controversial? Some people, myself including, think it's great. And for people like You – it's not mandatory. Just don't use it.

One step ahead of you. Recycled it pretty soon after trying and then throwing it out again 🤣

A lot of people don't understand what it's for (as you can see in this thread) and they create it, then use it, and finally they have a problem. I don't know what bothers you about seeing older devices in the menu. You won't even have a chance to compare the capabilities of individual versions. But do what you want. I just don't know if it was the most important thing at the moment or if it ever will be important and therefore it is controversial.

What bothers me? Having menu that large, full of now useless stuff. And I can compare the capabilities of different versions anytime, just by temporary removing that chip if necessary.
I hope there's only couple of people who don't understand it, mostly people who don't bother reading the description.

T1 items are completely worthless when you have access to higher tiers.
A T2 power supply increases the output a LOT for only a couple more resources.

Any T1 items are waste of space and resources except for Food Growers as by the time you get the Food Grower T2 you should have at least 10 full lockers of food and a steady supply of growing in the T1s.

Disassemble a T1 solar panel and you will have 80% of what you need for a T2.

Solar Panel T1 -- Produces Energy 6.5kW/s Requires -- Iron x 1,Cobalt x2,Silicon x1

Solar Panel T2 --Produces 19.50kW/s Requires --Iron x1,Cobalt x2,Silicon x1,Magnesium x1 and Aluminium x 1

Here is a website that shows you all the machines and stuff and what it produces and required materials

I have now found most if not all the Uranium existing on the ground or in chests, and can't build more reactors until I get an Ore Extractor T2. If I want to build more power, I need to 'fall back' to Solar.
(I'm playing a 'no rockets' game, and have even recycled any rocket engines I've found)
I can build another Reactor T1 if I recycle the Jetpack T3 I have, but yeah, I consider that worth more than the power gain.

The difference between a Reactor T1 and T2 is mostly that the T2 uses 3 uranium rods and produces 4x the power than a single T1(which uses 1 rod)
If you only have one rod, you build a T1. If you have two, you build two T1, when you get another rod, you dismantle the two T1s and make a T2.
