Best Butterfly location

Complete the mystery quest secret doors all the way to the Temple and you will find the 1200% butterfly Serena Larva which is the second best you will also find (the Best) 2 golden butterfly larva 1500% in the gold chest once you open the temple door.

I also found the Serena larva and the golden larva in the blue palace yesterday. I now have 4 of the golden larvae. 2 from the treasure chests and 2 I found right at the entrance in front of it (sand area). It's very difficult to find them there because the sand is too bright, but you can find them. :)

Serena isn't the only that spawns in that area, quite a large variety spawns there, to include the Golden (rarely, but found around 10 so far compared to the ~30 Serena.)

Of course you can but that's the end game you want to speed your terraforming prossess faster early.

I was finished with everything way before getting there. Started a new playthrough on sunday for the recent update, got the tech, did the story stuff when everything important was done. Quite late to "boost" something that's done, especially considering it takes only a few hours to get there. But if one likes to play in slow-mo it would certainly help.

thats cool but i been restaring the game i think its my 4th playthrough now.

Unknown if this is a bug or an undocumented feature, but if you recycle a serena larva you get T2 mutagen before its available via unlock.
...btw...you can incubate golden larva with T2 mutagen

The beauty is the variety of ways to play. First go took forever and even at 220,000 ppm oxy there was no atmosphere until update. Second go has been focused on supply chain and is now well past first game with far less time on task. But as the second started after the update and I got atmosphere almost immediately. Seems to me that time is as much a function of dev balance as it is any focus or urgency of mine.

I found if you have Graphics level setting below Medium- you don't get to see Butterflies.. if you change this setting- it requires a restart of the game for the change to take effect.
