I prefer not using mods thanks.

I would also love to see this. Stacks of 100 for raw elements and maybe stacks of 20 for food, water, etc.

I would also like to see storage crates able to be stacked.

Why? It would completely unbalanced the storage management.

Also, why? You have locker storage.

I can see both sides.

The game gives you LOADS AND LOADS of resources... make a sprawling base just to hold it all if you want.

I also like making mini base here mini base there. Having a few lockers that stack(even if its only 5-10 per slot) would be nice. (or a mod to convert X amount of ores to a stack of ores like a certain subnautica mod has?)

The game is balanced around one slot per item.

Also the stack size is highly preferential. For example, some want different stacking amounts per type. I like everything to stack up to 10k.

As a mod, the game devs don't have to worry about unbalancing the game and also less likely they introduce bugs or performance issues.

I rather get the ability to make Rods of more common materials like Iron, Titanium etc. Those things fill up fast even though you need it for everything.

Your suggestion is unrealistic!
In real life, do u go hiking in the mountains with stacked food, tools in a small backpack...?

(/me wonders if the image link will work...)

One item per slot is fairly typical of survival games, same in Subnautica for example.

Both types of games exist. Balance is around whichever they choose (1 vs many). The worst are the ones that choose larger stacks but dont make them big enough. This one is fine imho. Maybe stacks larger in storage but def not backpack unless you rebalance.

Maybe Storage Lockers could allow you to stack a few items together. As it is, 3 Chests can store more than 1 Locker for the same amount of iron. If the Locker could stack, they would be more useful.

10k? if it doesn't stack in prime numbers then I'm not interested and demand a refund

It would be neat to stack water bottles in the backpack as to not take up so much space needed for all the fun stuff on the planet:KnightBeer:
(wouldn't mind Rods for common materials also. They tend to take up a lot of storage space)

The "More Ingots" mod for Subnautica would be brilliant here. Might even be able to use the same assets (with permission). Compress a stack of 10 iron into an iron ingot. Compress a stack of 10 iron ingots into iron "bars" (ya I don't get that part either but that is how it was in Subnautica).

Sure lets get things to stack, and then to make balance to the game, make a locker and the bag only hold one stack at a time, that would be fair, lol.
Dekrosna Oct 25, 2022 @ 10:20pm
for this game I would say that the compromising balance would be say... 10 items per slot regardless of item/material... that would be storage... for on person I would like to see that be something like 5 items per slot... and they could implement this without breaking anything by way of a new backpack upgrade... as for the storage means who knows maybe a new storage container could be implemented.

Seriously think of ways to make an idea ACTUALLY balanced to the game concept and flow rather than keep spouting off one preference or another... likely hood of an idea being implemented is if you think of the means to balance something out so that it still fits to the feel of the game...

As for compressed resource types of iron, titanium, silicon, etc... I'd like to seed rod variants of those items as well if only to simply be a means of compressing the resource down... or to be utilized in some future construction. I know that there is the Super Alloy rod that holds technically 8 of each basic resource and 9 aluminum but that requires extensive uncrafting of first the rod, then the super alloy and usually you are not needing all the other materials that come with it. So yeah if not stackable items then compressed versions of them to increase storage since iron, titanium, and the like are so heavily used.
