helpless honey harvesting
The game stage that i'm at requires honey to continue progressing, only that i cant find a way to harvest it. I have 3 beehives of which the slots that are supposed to give you honey always have an image of honey in them as soon as they are built, only that i can keep waiting and never have the ability to actually harvest it.
I'm not sure if this is because, like algea, it has to be gathered through other methods than right or left clicking on the honey, but that hasn't worked so far.

I've looked through quite a few websites and discussions but havent found anyone else who seems to have this problem. Even a clear hint that this is just a bug would be appreciated.

It should show up like water in water collectors when you "open" it.

Yeah you just open the beehive like any container. Try reloading the game if you haven't.

And it should take around two minutes for more honey to appear.

I will assume it's a bug seeing as it doesn't take time to show the honey image, it's just always there seconds after building the hive. This problem has been there for a few weeks now in which the game was restarted several times, but thank you for your help nonetheless.

Have you tried deconstructing and reconstructing the affected items? I've never heard of anyone having this problem before, and I certainly don't have it now. But I know of at least one instance where a change or fix was made to something where deconstructing and reconstructing fixed it.

This is the sort of bug that would be best documented with a screenshot, so that we could help you better....

I'm just checking because it's a common problem with this game. Did you perhaps put something in the hive ? A bee, perhaps ? It would be logical, but the hives work like tree domes do: you have to leave the slot empty because that's where the honey magically appears. You probably didn't do this, but the game isn't very clear on whether you should or should not.

If not, it should take two or three minutes for honey to appear.

I'm a fool. I did, in fact, do that. Thank you very much and sorry for the late checkup.

As someone who has the exact same problem right now and is very thankful for this forum -- no, the game doesn't make it clear at all. If I set up a beehive, I would assume it needs bee larvae so there will be actual bees to make honey... ah well.

The bee hive needs a bee to be built.. lol. I assumed that was sufficient. Since it says it makes honey and there's a single output slot, that's for honey.

I never harvest honey, i harvest insects and break them down into their parts. You get enough honey from those high level ones you get loads of in the special area.

Please explain...

Exactly what 'high Level ones' do you get in the special area that produces honey that you don't need to harvest?

AFAIK, there's only TWO sources of Honey in the game; Beehive T1 and Beehive T2.
The T1 only produces Honey(a single inventory slot), and the T2 has 4 slots, but will also ocasionally produce new larvae.
And you need a regular Bee Larvae to construct both of those.

If you take one of the new larvae and break it into components and then break the mutagen T2 down...

Sounds like even more work than just setting up a Beehive T2 or two, and harvesting it periodically...

Sounds like more work than setting up auto crafters for everything so you never need to open the beehive for honey again.
