How to clean Up ? Stuff lying around
Hi,

the performance of my current Game is getting bad

I want to clean up a bit. After removing unnecessary Wind Turbines and Solar Panels i have a lot of Ore on the ground and I'm too lazy to pick it up

Also: The ore spawns that you are supposed to collect... I don't need it no more

Is there a console command or any way to get rid of all that ?

I also got some kind of nuclear / fusion / Heater cluster at some corner of the Map that i rarely visit. Is that a problem ?

Thanks

The shredder is a machine you can build that destroys anything you place into it.
Things that are out of the way should not impact performance.

I just finished picking up and shredding every single resource on the map. Third time I did it and I'm always amazed how good the place can look when it's clean. If only the pesky maggots wouldn't spawn in insane amounts everywhere I go.

Don\t pick the ground clear of ore. That just triggers a meteor to bring more. If ore is 'growing' out of the ground, leave it where it is. It might be worth picking up 'loose' ore, bit it might not.

I built my outside heaters, nuclear plants and the drills farther away from my buildings as well. Doesnt cause problems.

Nuclear plants work for the whole planet ergo they should never cause any.
Heaters are to heat the planet thus it doesnt matter where they are, same with drills.
I never ran into problems putting machines far away. It doesnt seem to be a factor in his game. It seems to have wireless power distribution.

You might have to search for console commands on the web. Until then you have to pick up the ore manually. It is doubtful the DEV wants to give them away. I made some storage cabinets outside and filled them up just in case I would like to build more structures.

I built all my "outside" heaters and Nuclear plants on the ledge in the iridium cave. That way they were out of the way and out of site.

I dump all my unwanted stuff on Taonath's planet.

lol.

I'm tempted to go stick a teleporter out in the far reaches of nowhere just so I can dump all my spare resources there.

Hey you're not the only one. Lol. I decided I wanted my planet as uncluttered by tech as possible, so I build all my heaters, fusion reactors, and drillers in the irridium cave. There's still plenty of room in there for whatever comes next. Saves my frame rate too.
Now if we could just take down all the tree and flower spreaders eventually that would be awesome. They're eye sores on my pristine planet.

Please do not, thank you. It's bad enough that there are unreachable resources I can't pick up.

I even removed all machinery (except tree spreaders and extractors) from the ground:

The planet is as clean and untouched as possible, aside from a few mining bases and extractors. I think now I will start placing tree spreaders everywhere.

Oooooo, well that explains the showers I get like every 5 minutes now. Duly noted. At least I'm almost done cleaning up the current sections (last is the mushroom river). Then it's on to building a stupid number of bases and trying to max everything out ASAP to get my teleporters

That has nothing to do with meteor events. I tested it and neither do they reappear after a reload, nor is there a notably higher number once the planet is cleaned. I might err as I didn't do any datamining to get proof but from the (granted rather limited) data at hand my subjective conclusion leads to there being no (noticable) connection.
Saint_Aint Aug 11, 2022 @ 1:52am
If there is a connection between what you pick up and when a meteor event happens, I have yet to see it. I have cleared the entire biome I have my main base in and if anything, have far more rare events than normal.

I don't see why a meteor spawn mechanic would be coded in when we can simply mine for all that we need.

Wireless is one of the things I love about this game! In No Man's Sky (NMS), you actually have to create a wiring system for all of your power generators (such as Solar Panels) and everything that needs power. I especially don't like having to drag really long lengths of wire across three widely-separated hotspots (e.g. Geomagnetic Hotspot, Copper Deep Deposit, and Oxygen Gas Pocket). In this instance, you basically have to drag wire from your Geomagnetic Generator(s) out to your Mineral Extractor(s) and your Gas Extractor(s). I'm SO glad we don't have to do anything like that in THIS game!

Im lazy too haha, I've just dumped my excess ore into the lake. it comes in handy when i start expanding tho. I defiantly think the deves should add a despawn timer. or at the very least make it despawn when you log out.
