Weird cursor drift.
Idk what to call it. If you just stand there and do nothing, you just start drifting up and to the right. Endlessly. I do not understand what this is suppose to simulate, or why you would put this in the game. I get the arm/cursor bobbing and swaying. But this is far beyond that. Why?

Unplug USB-Controller and you be fine.

could be a joystick problem to, had that happen with another game, unplugged the joystick and everything was OK

I do not have a joystick, controller, or any other inputs except mouse and keyboard. it is not stick drift or because of my inputs. It is how the game works. Stand in your base and do not touch your controller or mouse and you will look straight up and to the right. If you go onto the inventory/menus, the cursor does not move. This is built in to the game.

I have KB&M and don't have any drift. Quite often I fill up on food and water then leave myself standing in the doorway looking out while I get something to drink or use the restroom or something. When I return my character hasn't moved. Do you use a controller for other games? Is it possible there's interference from Steam controller when there shouldn't be?

No controller and I have never used a controller on this PC.

It literally cannot be my mouse/keyboard/whatever because

A) it does not happen in any other game

B) It does not happen in the menus/inventory

The character just continuously looks up and to the right. It is not even a constant movement, it changes speed and varies direction slightly.

Can't think of anything else at the moment other than a game file got corrupted possibly. Their current controller scheme is janky so I don't use one with this game. Can't even over ride it with a keyboard emulator.

It absolutely CAN be your mouse/KB/something else. Nobody else is experiencing the same issue, apparently, so that rules it out as a straight game feature.

It could be a side effect of whatever combination of screen resolution, refresh rate, graphics settings, graphics card, or more. In your post, I don't see where you've done any troubleshooting to narrow it down.

Have you taken a screenshot of this happening? Have you filed a bug report?

Have you changed your mouse or keyboard out to see if the problem continues?
Are you using a corded mouse, or a cordless one?
Have you adjusted your mouse sensitivity?

You have eliminated the obvious, so ... reboot. Then go straight into Steam without starting anything else and try to play the game. Same problem ?

I have quite literally tried every bit of troubleshooting possible. To include different keyboards/mouses etc. Even if I unplug EVERY input device it continues. There is no way that any of this: "It could be a side effect of whatever combination of screen resolution, refresh rate, graphics settings, graphics card, or more." would cause a cursor drift. Resolution? Refresh Rate? How could that make the cursor drift? As for the graphics settings/card/whatever I can say for certain it is not these either. I can run any game/VR with zero issues. I tried over 20 games yesterday without being able to replicate it, except on this game.

So yeah, it is the game.

So no, it is not my keyboard or mouse. Yes it is part of the game. Just because other people aren't experiencing the same issue does not mean it is 100% operator error.

I tried verifying the files and uninstalling/reinstalling too. Hopefully the dev gets back to me fairly soon :)

Unfortunately, yes it still happens.

I don't know anything about VR but if it is somehow running in the back ground maybe the game is inadvertently picking up on it. Is there a way to make sure the VR is disabled?

I do not have VR running/hooked up at this time. I was just explaining that this PC has no trouble running basically anything.

What VR system do you have? Yes, I know you said it was disconnected, but the drivers are still loaded, have you updated them? Do the have a zero point calibration? Your VR headset is a controller, especially if it also has the hand motion controllers.

The morale of the story is that some piece of software on your computer specifically is causing your mouse to drift. However, there are a couple of external reasons for drift that you can quickly diagnose:
1. Do you have an animal?
2. Is the mouse cord pulling your mouse with gravity? (mine did this sometimes cause the mouse pad was so slick, had to tie down the mouse cord to the monitor stand to stop it from pushing and pulling the mouse).
Just check to see if anything is moving your mouse externally, could be some random thing that you would normally ignore.

Interfaces in games are normally 2D overlays, they don't respect 3D controls properly so your mouse not drifting in the menus means nothing and pretty much tells me it has something to do with your vr software. Tell steam and your graphics drivers and any other vr specific software to ignore this game for VR purposes.
