Does the music ever change?
Like, I get that when you first start and the planet is a dust barren hellhole the music should be sorta depressing. But, once you get a blue sky and rain and stuff...does a more upbeat track start to play?

I'm new to the game and hopefully it isn't the same droning music loop for the entire time...

Nope... it's a looping soundtrack... but it's quite good...

I am not really into music in games so I just turn the volume down for music...

I realize this is Early Access, so some of my feedback while the game is in EA is to get some music tracks that become progressively more uplifting and positive as you reach big terraforming milestones.

Well... the devs are just two people... granted they can use softsynths and VST's in a DAW to compose the music... but they can only do so much...

Turn off music and use your media player.
I think the music fits very well and -more important- you can still listen to it after hours.

Once you get to the mammal stage, it's ABBA all the way down.

During the dinosaur stage, it's ABBA dabba doo.

I always turn music off for games and just listen to ambient effects in game.

Totally agree. Music is so important for creating an atmosphere. So not only would the change of pace be nice, it would make the transformation of the world really have an impact.

Sure they are just two people but there's public domain music, and honestly commissioning a smaller artist is only a couple hundred bucks. (In the scope of game development, that's not very much.)

I got bored with the in-game music real quick, so I used Kraftwerk's Autobahn, which fit in well with the dead-planet landscape. From the I moved on to Pink Floyd ... now I like using Second Wave Ska and The Go! Team. Go figure.

I agree, the music could be better and should change as terraformation progresses.
That being said, I'm find with the devs concentrating on more important things, gameplay-wise, right now. Music is more a cosmetic thing; I oftentimes turn the volume down and my stereo on. I react very well to music, so this makes the environment especially in the beginning so much more creepy, lol.

I like the music well enough, although of course it's repetitive. I think it basically fits the style and mood of the game, The idea of more uplifting music as the game progresses isn't a bad one. But I agree the devs have bigger things to worry about at the moment. I have several friends who are composers, maybe one of them would be interested in donating some music. ;)

I started playing with this playlist called "Ambient Space Soundscapes". Works rather well.
