Crater Iridium Meteor

Anyone know when the Crater Iridium Meteor disappears? I want to build a base in the center and I noticed it disappeared in my Relaxing Mode game but has not disappeared in my Standard Mode game yet. I like building a base in there due to the ease of collections after meteor showers after rocket launches.

I do not think it ever goes away, I have a base there and I have about a day played on that save file and it has not disappeared yet

I am halfway through insects level and the meteor has shrunk to about half size. I suspect the shrinkage might be based on terraforming level, or alternatively takes hours of play time to disappear. When the update came out, some people didn't get the meteor. I suspect they were way beyond where I am and therefore that the disappearance is linked to terraforming level.

I am now keen to push development of a new file to at least melt ices to see things.

ok, thanks all. I know it disappears completely at some point. It is gone and I have a launcher base in the center on relaxing mode.

I have one save just over 1TTi and the meteor is gone, next closest save is 250GTi and the meteor is probably half it's original size. So somewhere between those 2 numbers it goes.

While we're here... I can't find the crater biom. I can see it, bottom left with a lake surrounding an island, in my map info screen, but I can't find any way into it. A tip would be appreciated.

At first a was confused what you mean with "the meteor disappers". Do you mean the meteor itself in the middle of the crater disappers?

My crater is starting to fill with water. Meteor is still there and I am at 1.99GTI. Will keep updating.

EDIT 1: 3.00GTi and the beginning of tree phase, working on insect phase. The dust and meteor are still there. Water has risen to about where it stops rising.

EDIT 2: Still 3.00 GTi and the beginning of tree phase. Logged out for the night, logged in and dust was gone, meteor still there.

EDIT 3: 462 GTi ALL rocks around Meteor are gone. Meteor much smaller, almost gone.

EDIT 4: 1.00 TTi, I had to log out and back in but the meteor is now gone! Time to start building!

Who knows, the answer to that is a well hidden and well kept secret. It's nowhere to find.
