How far out of map borders can you go?

Today I went out of "playable area". And it was spooky as hell. Storm came, screen became extremely dark red and possibly falling through textures combined made me go back. But I wonder how far you can go and if there's maybe some easter eggs (probably not). I was searching on youtube if someone was exploring these out of bounds areas but couldnt find anything

I got not only outside the currently developed area but even outside the available map... and a little above:

So when you go outside of developed area you get scary red mist and then after a while a fog?

Nah, the fog is because I'm so high above the clouds - I was actually hoping for a nice view from my "Mount Olympus" base but alas...

Well... I have given up in finding this crazy thing y'all have no problem finding. I am not good at directions. So, thank you again for trying to show me how to, I have seen some of the u tube channels that say, hey I will show you how to get there and then they use the transporter to the spot, that doesn't help. It is needed to go walk or fly to it to show how to get to it. Thank you again.

great, once again, too many spoilers.

now 3/4 of the game's players have all gone to that location
looking for the chip stash
and crashed the multiplayer servers.

The world keeps going for quite a distance, there's nothing out there (except the chip box), then you hit a wall. The map is square and it's walled off with an invisible wall.
