Larger Storage Container
My base is 3/4 storage containers. As we get into the later game I'd very very much appreciate a "Level 3" storage option.

Also, contemplate please letting us "Drop all" from remote inventories, even if a confirmation is required. For example, when I'm pulling specific ores from Ore Collectors, I'd like to be able to "drop all" from the remaining material to clear the inventory. If it all drops out on the ground that's acceptable, but right now you have to pull it out by hand and then drop it.

Finally, perhaps allow us to compress all ores into "Rods" like you can with Uranium and Iridium and Super Alloy, to save space. "Uncompressing" with the deconstruction device is fine. Or the game can automagically give you "change" from a rod if you craft with less than the full number of needed pieces. Thank you.

Just use a small living quarters for each item. They work great for storage outside. And, they hold 200+ vs just 35 of the large storage container

"but right now you have to pull it out by hand and then drop it" - use CONTROL + left mouse click to pull all of the same type. Or the button to pull out all of the remaining ores. Then go to the SMALL shredder machine (pls, devs, make the inventory size of the machine equal to the biggest backpack).

Or you visit Nexus and get a Mod. There is a Stacking-Mod, that stacks all items 10 times.
Also there are some other QoL Mods to consider.

Good Luck

While the game is still in early access and still being updated and such I'm trying to keep the install vanilla. I don't want to develop any confusion as to what's the base game and what's a mod as things change, and I don't want to risk anything breaking (or being broken by) a later update. For mods I'll wait till the game is officially released as final (if that ever happens, I know some games essentially stay in early access forever).

Put a platform and place big lockers one after another. That way you can collect outside in a large numbers.

One of the complaints with this game, is the lower framerates as you progress further into the game.
This is related to how much has to be rendered visually in the game.
Your solution adds another pod and windows (and visible pod interior)
and every single one of those shiny sparkling Ore pieces.

I've found the best way to help the FPS is to limit unnecessary things like that.
Since I can't afford an alien supercomputer.

I think this is a good suggestion as the base game really should have more storage optimization. We shouldn't have to download a mod just to make things work.

Perhaps as the finish development, larger storage options will be available. But given that nothing I've yet seen requires more than 9 "parts" (either raw materials, or pieces of things you've created from raw materials) to assemble, there's only so much point in storing gobs and gobs of everything. If you're actually playing a part of the game that's been developed, you're quite likely to be building things as fast as you can and trying to get the mats for them, rather than leisurely building up a massive storehouse from which you can build on a whim. The "massive storehouse" only comes about when you run out of new things to build, and are kind of twiddling your thumbs waiting for more actual content.

I've been playing this game from the beginning of Prologue.
I'm on my 5th game now...6 if you count one delete.
I've stored everything there is, in multiple and I've built everything there is.

My first question is why are you storing all this stuff that needs even bigger storage solutions???
Why do you need to store SO MUCH stuff????

Are you afraid someone else will steal it?
Has it been dissolving, and you need to collect it all?
Do you think the ores are actually Pokemon, and you have to 'catch 'em all'?

Personally, I'm a bit OCD, so I need to clean up the area around my base... can't have all those materials just laying around dirtying up the place... and under water, can't let the lake be trashed.... I want to be able to find those Super Alloys easily.

On a whim, I'm gonna build a mega structure, I just know it. Gotta keep iron, titanium, super alloy... gonna want windows everywhere, so cobalt, more iron, more titanium...

For me its collecting, collecting, collecting. Because, when i wanna build something (big or wide), i will do that for hours on end. And nothing is more infuriating than having to stop, because something is missing.

Also the feeling: Maybe i need this later. Thats why i have in every rpg all potions at the end of the game, Its a habbit, thats hard to get rid of. ;)

Definitely suggest the Item Stacking mod. Seriously.

Why do you need to store your Ores in a locker at all? Just find a place where they wont roll away and pile them up for future use?

I use outdoor space to store my ore. It's an idea I got somewhere on this forum

I started dumping my commons in a small living pod, but then decided what the heck when it was full and I've just about buried it now. But I actually like dropping my rares at the top of a small hill and watching them sparkle as they slowly roll downhill. My only issue is every time there's an osmium storm, a meteor hits my little rare stockpile and I have to figure out "Did I drop that piece of osmium, or is it from the meteor?"
