Weirdly a LOT of mining to do to build a city.. I mean.. Terraform a planet.
Would also love some DNA manipulation to edit out hunger and thirst, it's in my way so often. XD
But we don't really need that stuff. We're not setting up an industrial planet, we're terraforming it so someone else can do all that later.
Besides which, the quantities we deal in are crazy small. Nine hunks of metal is enough to build an entire rocket launch platform? How many for a nuclear reactor? Really, I think there's a game about building industry where you need all that stuff, but I'm not sure if they came up with a satisfactory name for it...
It's not "ok" it's "good". "Ok" is commonly used in German as well and as anglicism it requires no translation.

more places to explore. Sadly with teleporters and fusion reactors, I no longer need to go outside for much. The world is a much smaller place. I have mines for all the major ingredients, lockers full of stuff... I just don't need to go resource hunting much.
A larger variety of vegetation, both naturally growing and seeds. I've been trying various things in the DNA manipulator, just to see if there's hidden recipes beyond the golden seed created tree. Would also like if once you discover a recipe, it showed up on the screen.
I know we're just criminals serving out a sentence, but I'd like to see some reward for getting the job done and a second level to the 'terraforming' where we get a budget to build the planet up as well as a salary which we can use to purchase personal stuff for our living quarters...
Underwater Building and a Sleep Function.
The underwater base parts can be behind a progression block (the obvious one is where lakes start forming).
The sleep function would help a huge amount with the grind time. Maybe have a selectable time limit on sleep depending on how much the food and water levels are full (with enough left over to eat and drink after waking? Just be sure it automatically ends BEFORE they zero out and you die.
Another thing that would be useful is having the map screen be side-scrollable instead of fixed where the panel is.

Forgot to mention Fish. I Really Want fish. An aquarium to put them in and to be able to watch them swimming by in the underwater base room.
