Cant Find anymore blueprints

Hi,
I brought this game for myself, then the b/f was interested, so we brought it for him too, I have managed to find too many blueprints and the b/f can't find enough, we have looted every box and even looted the entire new areas and still only come across one blueprint that gave us the torch t2 upgrade. I've been playing longer than the b/f so I know where most if not all of chests are but still i can't find anymore blueprints.
Is this a bug in the game? or is the b/f doomed to never have the updated map, because loot in chests doesn't respawn, there are only so many hours you can spend searching the map for any more blue/yellow chests only to find you've already looted them, it gets a bit boring and frustrating knowing that i am sitting here with 13 spare chips and the B/f can't even send the T3 Rocket up becasue there seems to be a shortage of chips on his game.

Any ideas or help is greatly appreciated.

P.s I did look for an existing topic for this problem but couldn't find one, so don't shout at me for starting a new discussion.

Yes, there are extras. It is of note that they did add a recipe in the last patch and expect to add more in the future. Between all the 6 bunkers, 4 wrecks, 2 satellites and all the random chests there should always be a surplus.

On a side note...now playing my fifth game, and since I don't expect any more big game changing updates, I've decided to deconstruct all Crates after emptying.
I did it in my first game...regretted it because of those big game updates that put new things in crates...but now that we're in Early Access, who cares.
I get sick of coming across crates, and not knowing if I've emptied them unless I open them for the umpteenth time.

Regarding Chips...I've found and decoded every available one...
and still have five un-decoded Chips.

There does seem to be a random number of Chips to be found...I've seen others talking about different amounts of Chips to be found.

There is a set number of decodes available, so there should be at least that number of Chips to be found.

So, unless his game is glitched, he just hasn't found them all yet.

Can confirm it seems to be random. On my first playthrough, I had allready researched everything on Chips be finishing Moss stage.

Now on my second attemplt, it's much more rare. I still missing some and I'm at Moss stage again.

Yeah, I have tons of chips that I assume will eventually have a use.

And I routinely deconstruct chests I find, just so that I won't waste time later. It's easy enough to rebuild them inside whatever I've built as a base to explore the area.

Did you realize that the tiny blue boxes are also chests? these are where I found most of my chips. Otherwise you got on the wrong side of RNG, maybe a new start?

Contains of blue chests are totally random.
Just to see that - come to chest, save, open and look, then load, and open, contains are different after load.
So, if you need chips - you can save/load with new founded chests, until you get chips.

It's indeed RNG. Just looted the last Wreck I had to explore in the Great Rift and got 6 chips from a big blue crate and 1 from a small blue crate.

So it was just bad luck.

there are about 25 of them in a chest in one of the extreme corners of the map

Head south by southwest into the desert to -1952:75:2941 and you'll find the chest there. It's a long way so either take a few tanks of oxygen with you or the ingredients to build a couple of habitat modules (and the doors) along the way.
